Are the three supporting plastic plates very rigid? Are you able to bend the elbow slightly while wearing it? How much degree of freedom?

I had this on very tightly and I could move my arm a few degrees max. If I loosened it I could probably move my arm maybe up to 15 degrees? Almost no freedom at all.
