are the heat pads single use?

Yes. We gave up with the heat pads & used the Snuggle Pup with the ticker and bought a microwaveable pad from Pets at Home to put underneath his vet bed. I can't recommend Snuggle Pup enough, we had no sleepless nights with our 8 week old puppy. He did snuggle it, perfect name but ditch the heat pads. Hope this is helpful.

Do i understand correctly that if I place the heatpack in a sealed airtight bag , I can reactivate for using again for the next night?

Hi...No, they are for only use once. However they are expensive. What I do (someone else gave me this tip) the white bag you get for inside the snuggle puppy. Fill that with dry rice, and heat in the microwave for no more than 2 mins really. Its lovely and warm and I am still using the same every night since 5 weeks ago.
