I do a LOT of metal detecting so rely upon rechargeable batteries, and this charger is about as good as they get. It recharges them quickly, and the drain and then recharge feature adds life to the batteries. If I drain and recharge them every week or so I can keep getting about 1 1/2 more hours of usage out of the batteries than I got with the old charger that did not have that feature.

2nd purchase, I have tested both, they work great!!! I will mention, some batteries, like my Energizers, you have to manually pull out, after about 2 hours, it doesn't register the led light, shut off, no biggie! Buy it, trust me!

This unit will charge up the battery...but if your not keeping a close look out for it ..it will over charge.. an leak. this happen to me twice. battery get hot, after fully charge,if your not keeping a eye on it less then 5 min it will get hot an leak ..have to take the battery out rate after it fully charge...this is not one of those walk away unit an leave the battery an it the next day..

Some batteries kegt on charging forever.

Great charging unit! If they don't light up the screen, just roll them in their place.

Major time saver for recharging remotes, microphone transmitters, night vision goggles, radar... cough.

The LED charge indicators on slots 4 and 5 on the right bank of 8 channels were inoperative. I didn't get a chance to finish charging my 16 AA batteries to determine how long it would take to complete the charge cycle, but simply returned the defective charger instead. I was quite disappointed and decided that I didn't trust the item quality nor the company's quality inspection process enough to ask for a non-defective exact replacement. I would NOT recommend your purchasing this product!
