Bob's Red Mill Organic Whole Grain Kamut 24 oz

I had never tried this grain before but was looking to step up my bowl gain. And wow. The buttery flavor is so good but just subtle enough to take away from any other ingredients. I am big on texture and this has the most wonderful texture to me. Firm but soft, and kind of pops similar to a pea. Will buy again and will buy again from this company. Such quality

It takes too long to cook.

This was purchased for our pet bird and needless to say, she is as usual, being difficult! It always takes time when introducing new foods to her. I did bird sit for my friends and their little feathered ones love it!I will be trying other Bobs Red Mill foods for her and don't regret the purchase ; I am hoping the prices get a bit lower. It's a good quality food for her to have and I am one of those who feel you get what you pay for with most things. Although most times I taste a new food before giving it to her but I have not tried it myself so can't say yet how it tastes. I look forward to seeing what else is available from them.

Ok, so 6 hours on low in a slow cooker and then draining the water worked perfectly. This is NOT like any rice or standard wheat based grain you would grind up.... This stuff is clearly meant to have the large grains and texture as driving characteristics.

I'm vegan, and this grain is high protein. It remains firm, doesn't get mushy. Very good.
