Theresa Randle (Malcolm X, Bad Boys II) delivers a breakthrough performance as a frustrated New York City actor who reluctantly takes a job as a phone sex operator. Here, unlike her previous dealings with potential employers, her (female) boss is kind, caring, and sensitive. She ends up too engrossed in her work and starts to lose touch with reality as she becomes a different woman to both her friend and neighbor (Emmy Award Winning Filmmaker Spike Lee) and her romantic, shoplifting ex-husband (Isaiah Washington of "Grey's Anatomy.")

Wonderful film but a harsh tale about the realities of racism experienced by women of colour
I loved this film. One of my favourite Spike Lee films, second only to 'Mo' Better Blues.' I had it on VHS but the quality began to deteriorate and now I finally have DVD copy.Visually it was wonderfully colourful and so true to 90's fashion. Many cameos by famous names. Spike Lee always has an interesting way of getting a message across. A cautionary tale which I try to keep in mind whenever I'm a risk of getting carried away.

Fil noioso a mio parere, l'unica scena divertente è il provino con un giovane Quentin Tarantino!Per il resto il film scorre moolto lentamente.Tipico film di e per afroamericani (ovviamente in stile Spike Lee).Consigliato solo per amanti del genere..
