Love this book, i usually get bored while reading but this one is well explained and for a girl like me who is struggling with bpd and has difficulty in her relationship im telling you!! Get this book! It helped me and my boyfriend to understand my ups and downs and what triggers my bpd(:

Solid Overview for the most part…!
I’m an adult lady who was officially diagnosed with BPD almost 3 years ago. In an attempt to do some soul searching and self help, I stumbled upon a list of BPD related books and found this one there. It is a great resource and breaks down a lot of the different aspects of personality disorders and variations of BPD as well as highlighting different coping strategies. It’s not extremely in depth but it is a good precursor for any person with BPD that is struggling with what they can do to help themselves.However there is one part of the book that I highly questioned the validity/accuracy of. In a section titled Emotional Regulation, there is a part about naming your emotions and identifies the “six recognized primary emotions.” It says the six primary emotions are Anger, Fear, Happiness, Love, Joy, and Disgust. I didn’t think much of the passage at first until I realized “joy” and “happiness” is essentially the same… but where the HECK IS SADNESS??? As a person also diagnosed with depression in addition to BPD, I thought it was extremely bizarre to leave out such a key emotion and to give incorrect information in an otherwise useful book!Overall the book was great! But that part really made me question the validity of everything else said.

YOU ARE NOT ALONE
I never leave reviews. Just not something I do, but this book…deserves it! I am currently battling with my BPD. My life has been a constant battle, day in and day out..I’ll be honest, some days.. I want to disappear, for good…but the desire I have to overcome this and claim MY life back is what has kept me here. I know what it’s like to hate yourself, to wish you were someone else. What it’s like to feel you are unlovable and a horrible human being. I know. YOU ARE NOT ALONE! This book will show you that, and it will help you understand why you are the way you are, you are not a bad person AND you do deserve happiness and peace. You do not have to remain a prisoner in your own mind. Please don’t give up..there is help out there.. take the first step.. buy the book!! You will thank me later!
