I ordered this for my 6 year old girls as I remember having something similar when I was younger and it was a great way to spend time making various creations very easily and something that doesn't use batteries!One of them very quickly made a little house (see photo) and also has since been playing around with different shapes fitting inside each other and trying to build more and more shapes with more sides.The board itself is transparent so it can be easily displayed against a light coloured wall / door and or tacked to a window to show off anything they are proud of.The rubber bands come in a resealable plastic bag which I'm sure will get lost soon. It would maybe nice to have somewhere on the back to store them - maybe a little slide drawer to keep everything together. The wrapping it comes in really isn't re-usable so I'm just hoping we can keep it all together.The board itself feels strong and durable and of course with rubber bands we can always replace and get others when they get lost or break.Overall I'm very happy with this simple but great piece that I'm very sure promotes creativity whilst developing and improving knowledge of shapes, area etc. A neat educational 'toy' that can be used again and again with many many possibilities! Got this to use for a blind child in primary to be able to make geometry maths questions accessible. Has pegs do I will also use for graphs with pipe cleaners. It’s a simple item but having bands you can use for sighted children too. The suggestion on the packet to use with an OHP made me laugh slightly (not seen one of those in a classroom for 10 years or more, but would work with a visualiser. A useful teaching aid.

I have some of these in my classroom that are all white. This one is clear and comes with some elastic bands. I would say that you will have to buy extra elastic bands. Children use the elastic bands to stretch on to the plastic pins and create shapes. This really helps with fine motor skills, strengthening their finger muscles. You can ask children to point out which shapes they have made to help with shape recognition. The reason that this is clear is so that you can out a template below it. So for example, you put a picture of a boat made of geometric shapes under it and the child has to copy it on the pegboard. Nice product.

I ordered this board . To be honest , I never seen this board being in use in side the class room or out side the class room resources . It is some thing is open ended use . It can be use full for learning shapes , symmetrical shapes and mirror images . I have apprehensions for rubbers , as these can hurt a child . Any way it is up to the student he uses it as a musical instruments or for maths problems and also can be use for loom band bracelets making board .It is only depends on creativity of mind .I like it .

There isn't much to say about it that the description doesn't already say really.It's made of a durable clear plastic that could withstand a few drops, knocks and bumps, although it's not recommended as it only takes it being dropped the wrong way and pegs could break off, but for general use and usual wear and tear it's absolutely fine.The rubber bands are easy enough to put on and take off.It will keep a little ones mind occupied with countless geometric patterns they can come up with aside from the designed use.A great educational toy at the end of the day.

I gave this to my young grandson and asked him to make various geometric shapes. He actually played with it for quite a while making all sorts of shapes.My daughter says they use these in the school she works at to teach geometrical shapes and the children find the lesson really enjoyable.It’s a strong plastic square shaped tray with plastic pegs and 3 different sized elastic bands. Any bands could be used if these break or get lost.A really useful teaching aid that is also fun.

Das große Geobrett wurde in einer Plastiktüte verpackt geliefert und entspricht den Produktbildern. Eine Anleitung liegt nicht dabei, wird auch nicht unbedingt benötigt. Dafür gibt es eine wiederverschließbare Tüte mit je 3x 8 Gummibändern in rot, grün und weiß, in verschiedenen Größen und Stärken.Das Geobrett besteht aus Plastik und hat 11x11 Pins. Zudem sind am linken und unteren Rand die Zahlen von 0 bis 10 zu sehen und die Pins sind mit Linien verbunden, sodass ein Raster entsteht. Dank der Zahlen könnte man sogar irgendwie Diagramme abbilden, zumindest war das eine spontane Idee. Wie genau, müsste ich mir noch überlegen. Jedenfalls können hiermit auch schon Kinder ab etwa 3 Jahren umgehen, sich ausprobieren und ihre Fähigkeiten trainieren.Die Qualität ist in Ordnung, das Plastikbrett ist robust und bisher frei von Kratzern. Legt man es darauf an, wird man es auch durchbrechen können oder man tritt versehentlich drauf. Aber das ist ja nicht die Regel und daher denke ich, dass das Brett recht langlebig ist.Leider gibt es keine Vorlagen. Es geht natürlich auch ohne, aber wenn man explizit auf die bekanntesten geometrischen Flächenformen aus ist, sollte man dem Kind selbst ein paar Vorgaben machen. Das geht ja auch auf spielerische Weise, z. B. auch als Partnerdiktat. Lässt man die Kinder einfach mal frei machen, entstehen wunderbare kreative Ergebnisse, Muster, Buchstaben, Ziffern, Bilder, Figuren und weitere Eigenkreationen.Insgesamt kann ich das Geobrett empfehlen. Die Kids können sich damit stundenlang allein beschäftigen und es ist größer als jene, die wir in der Schule verwenden. Insofern ist es nochmal attraktiver. Die Gummibänder haben sicher nicht das ewige Leben, aber das ist absehbar und vielleicht möchte man sowieso noch mehr und welche in anderen Farben und Größen anbieten, um noch mehr Ideen umsetzen zu können. Ich kann nicht wirklich einen Kritikpunkt finden. Dass keine Vorlagen dabei sind, weiß man ja vorher, daher ziehe ich keinen Stern ab.

Dieses Gemometriebrett habe ich für ein sehbehindertes Kind aus unserer Familie zum Testen bestellt. Das Prinzip kannten wir schon aus der Sehfrühförderung. Da das Brett transparent ist, ist der Kontrast sehr stark abhängig von dem Untergrund. Auf dem Foto habe ich das Brett auf einen braunen Laminatboden gelegt und dieser eignet sich als Untergrund nicht gut. Besser wäre eine einfarbige Unterlage die einen guten Kontrast zu den Gummis bieten kann. Die Gummis lassen sich sehr gut über die Noppen spannen und sollten Gummis reißen, kann mas sie sehr gut durch Haushaltsgummis ersetzen.Insgesamt ist das ein sehr schönes Brett, welches zum bespielen und lernen einlädt.Wenn man sich ein zweites Brett zulegt, kann man auch Formen spannen, die das Kind anschließend auf seinem Brett nachspannen kann. Es macht auch sehr Spaß sich dabei abzuwechseln. Die meisten Kinder lieben es, schwierige Formen vorzulegen und gespannt darauf zu warten ob es der Gegenüber denn auch wirklich schafft es nachzumachen.Für kleinere oder sehbeinträchtigte Kinder ist das Nachspannen oft gar nicht so leicht. Sie müssen die Noppen abzählen (ggf erfühlen) um herauszufinden wo sie den ersten Gummi spannen müssen und über wieviele Noppen der Gummi gespannt werden muss.Das kann eine sehr interessante Lernerfahrung sein. Das Brett lässt sich auch mit verbundenen Augen bespielen.

Wenn man das transparente Geometriebrett von Learning Resources als reines Lehrmittel zum besseren Verständnis der Formenlehre sieht, ist es ein gut durchdachtes und günstiges Teil für Schüler*innen und Eltern.Das ca. 23 x 26 cm große Brett aus durchsichtigem Kunststoff mit den 11 x 11 Pins ist tadellos verarbeitet und sehr robust. Die beiliegenden, farbigen Gummis sind erfreulich stabil und haltbar.Mit etwas Nachdenken kann man darauf geometrische Formeln optisch darstellen und so einem Kind anschaulich erklären, wie Formeln zustande kommen und berechnet werden. Auch für die Mengenlehre gut zu gebrauchen.Aber auch Abseits der Mathematik macht es vielen Kindern und Jugendlichen einfach Spaß, mit den Gummis auf dem Brett Formen und Muster zu bilden. Man kann auch mit Bunten Fäden oder Schnüren schöne Designs erschaffen. Eine entspannende, fast schon meditative Beschäftigung.Wenn man so etwas braucht, dann ist das hier eine sehr gute und günstige Wahl.Empfehlenswert!
