Firstly, the hair curler arrived swiftly & well packaged, so not damage.I love the ionic styling feature & it definitely makes a big difference to my fine, fly away hair. I would certainly recommend spending the extra for ceramic & ionic features. I bought this styler to replace a slightly more versatile babylis one & it works very well, the brush is just the right size for medium length hair but I'd imagine it would be too big a barrel for short hair.The one downside I didn't realise & is not made clear in the blurb is that the brush does not detach. This is a pain for a number of reasons - firstly it makes it difficult to clean if, like me, you like to wash your brush. I wouldn't risk taking it near water even unplugged as any moisture could kill the motor. All the others I have seen detach for cleaning.Secondly, you will also need a hair dryer to get your hair nearly dry before you can use this styler. I have fine hair that dries quickly so don't even think this will dry thick hair in less than an hour!! My old babylis allowed you to remove the brushes & just used the handle as a crude hairdryer. It worked perfectly as I then used the brushes to sculpt the style.Given the 2 drawbacks, I wouldn't buy this again. If you're happy drying your hair with your existing hairdryer & using this as an add on, then it's fine.

Best hair tool i have ever used!! Specifically went for this type of brush head & it is the closest to a salon blow dry I've found. Rarely need yo use straighteners since I bought it, smoothes any frizz from highlights really well.I have almost shoulder length highlighted hairEDIT. The electrical cable broke out of end of handle after 5 months, surprised as other babyliss products have lasted years. However, I gave ordered another as I can't do hair as nicely without it!

Good styler for the price , makes it really easy to get a bouncy blow dried look , easier than trying to use a brush and dryer . You must rough dry til almost completely dry then you can use the styler to add smoothed out volume in sections. Also pretty good for just refreshing the style in between washes .

I have used hot hair brush dryers for years. This was cheapest and worst. It’s aweful to get hair in, makes too loud noise, doesn’t grip hair at all, doesn’t heat up well. I have always used dryers above 1200 and this was too cool to do any hair drying

Well priced but possibly too big a barrel for my hair which has layers. I can’t seem to get a curl to hold so there’s not enough lift for me. I also find it quite bulky to hold and it often slips out of my hand. It’s a shame the barrel size isn’t changeable.

Fantastic hairstyler.....it's ionic properties have eliminated the need for me to use a straightener on my very frizzy hair which in turn has improved the condition of my hair tremendously. I have tried other ionic stokers before but this one beats all the others by a mile. I have short hair and wondered if the barrel would be too large but it is fine.....perhaps I can now, at last grow my hair

Doesn’t get too hot only 700/800 so it as much damage to your hair. My hair is fine but not thin and whisby. Don’t think it would be good for girls with very thick hair though.
