Sandwiches or nicer than a sandwich maker

I love this little toastie maker, I believe you can cook other things in it too.The plates are just perfect and it beats the silly toastie makers with the moulded plates hands down.Over the moon

one side heats less, makes crackling noise. Does the job if not too picky

The description showsthe toaster with a very large sandwich in between the grill plates, when trying this it is difficult to close it has to be held down throughout the process.in the product description it is described as self regulating temperature control which I believe is correct he top plate. The instructions advise to set the temperature to the temp youwant. There is no indications the diagram within the instructions as to where the r temp controlmightbe andeecoulfntfindone. We switched the appliance on, sprayed the plates with low cal oil and when the red light went off we put the sandwich in to the toaster and held the top lid until the top of sandwich was browned. We have had a similartoaster in the past and when a panini is placed inside the top plate seems to slide back making the toasting area deeper. Widening the jaws to accomadste the larger load.However we did cook asparagus in the grill. Sprayed the plates with one cal oil and placed a spear of asparagus in each groove on the bottom plate. Shut the top lid and set timer for 3 minutes. It came out slightly charred and beautifully cooked without being soggy. We have cooked single slice s of bread by spraying plates and the bread and put it in to toastchecking to see how brown it was. It made a good job of this and was evenly browned crisp. Served it with the asparagus on top

I purchased a panini maker as my old one ended up going up in smoke. I purchased this one as it was cheap and thought it was worth a try. I will say that it does work and it would be suitable for single people who would only have 1 sandwich or panini. I am a tall man and need more than just 1 sandwich. I purchased a pack of 4 paninis (around 5 inches long) and managed to squeeze 2 paninis on the press. The actual toasting area of the press is extremely small and couldnt get both my small paninis on and have them toasted right the way around. I ended up with just bread on the tops and bottoms. This press isn't suitable for myself, but as I mentioned earlier, if you live by yourself and just 1 panini is enough then this is the press for you. Otherwise I would suggest buying something a bit bigger than this.
