This is the typical metal cover for frying pans, saucepans and paella pans in use all over Spain.Very handy for keeping heat trapped in whilst frying, helping cook foods all the way through and producing a more boiled or steamed result than pure frying alone.Also very handy for covering a paella whilst it is sitting for the obligatory 10 minutes before serving.And finally, as if that wasn't enough, it's pretty good for flipping a tortilla too!These lids are equipped with a simple black knob which makes handling easy, as well as a circle of vent holes (or 'Desvaporizadores' as impressively known in Spanish) to avoid too much pressure build up.
