Description

Hops are a well known, essential ingredient in the production of beer. In Spain the stems are also used to weave baskets and pots for fishing. The young shoots can also be eaten as asparagus, but should be eaten freshly harvested. In the garden it is a climbing plant that needs good soil nitrogen and reaches a height of approx. 8 m. Most plant die back in winter, but in spring sprout again.
