From a cold water start, pressing the lever at bottom of the handle, it took about 3 minutes to hit full boil, which is turn the knob clockwise all the way to right as far as it will go. TO TURN IT OFF, turn it counterclockwise all the way to the left. It's hard to see but the first symbol is an O with a slash through it, and it will turn off the "keep warm:" function. So the lever on the handle seems to quick heat to the desired temperature and flips up to, "auto switch" to warming temp. This seems to stay on for quite a long time, and you will hear it warming water back up as it cools down until you turn the knob all the way to the left to turn the kettle off. I haven't dry boiled to see if it auto shuts off the kettle completely. Maybe that's when the function kicks on. Otherwise, it seems to be an auto switch to warm mode. So far I love this as I'm always drinking hot drinks throughout the day and like the keep warm temp stays on longer than any kettle I've ever used. Cute, fast, wide mouth to clean. Loving it thus far.

Despite its size, it still meets our tea-drinking needs efficiently. One thing to be mindful of is the potential for hard water build-up. To combat this, we regularly heat a vinegar mix through the kettle to keep it clean, which has proven to be effective. Overall, we're delighted with the Elite Gourmet EKT1220M Electric Glass Kettle and would purchase it again without hesitation. It's not only a practical appliance but also a lovely addition to our kitchen that enhances both form and function. It's a great little kettle.

Good kettle. The temperature control is a handy feature for green teas etc. We’ve used this kettle at least once a day or more for two years. A small plastic piece at the top end of the handle eventually wore and came off. Not sure glue would hold well in the heat. You can see the correct spot for it in the second photo. The kettle still works but some steam escapes from the missing part area.

Really nice looking, glass is what I was looking for, but it doesn't actually boil the water. That's ok though, we still have the old one to boil water to add to whatever needs it. This gets it hot enough that it's drinkable right away and we don't have to wait for an hour to be able to take a sip lol (we use our insulated travel mugs even at home). The dial on the front is not what I am used to on electric kettles, it's actually nicer. Whatever temperature you leave the dial on, it will keep the water that temp all day if you want it to. It shuts off and on to maintain that temp. Since it never boils the water, there is no risk of it boiling away with the lack of an auto shut-off, which wouldn't work with this kind of heat maintaining set up. Happy with it :)

I love this kettle so much, it's quiet, and it heats up fast. I love that you can set the temp which is exactly what I was looking for. This is perfect if you are looking for something to make tea with or mushroom coffee, since they both have preferred temps for brewing. It was affordable and goes with my other teal appliances. Make sure you clean it before you use it or the first pot will make your tea or coffee taste like plastic.

Nice cute kettle, I can't recommend it for tea lovers but I'm definitely keeping it: as far as I can tell this is the ONLY kettle that fits my need. Mostly because of reliability and the fact that no other product in this price range (you would need to spend $150+) keeps water warm all day every day. My review below is still valid, temperature controls are loosely defined but you would quickly understand your settings, and it no longer bothers me. ---------------- previous review ------------------ What is my need? **I want warm (150F) boiled water throughout the day.** All other kettles either don't keep warm for more than a few hours, no matter the price tag. or you have to boil water, then set the temp. no other kettle can do this... This little buddy does exactly that: I pour some filtered water, press one button and it boils it, and then lets it cool down to a desired (150F in my case) temperature indefinitely, eventually will run out of water and then auto-shutoff. I had to take 1 star off though, as the thermostat there is, how shall I say it, "buggy"... Armed with a few decent food thermometers tested the kettle. As many pointed out I found it quite disturbing. 1. temperature fluctuates by at least 20F. i.e. 130-160 at a fixed temperature setting. 2. operational range is not as advertised. (a) max temperature (marked 190) for me is 165-185, (b) moving control to "150F" (to the middle of the scale) lowers temp by only 10F: 155-175 (c) to get my favorite 150F I need to move it to 130 Your mileage will vary! I would guess that each kettle is different.

I liked the design and colour scheme so ordered this unit. The base unit has a central hub which had to be straightened each time ,the kettle was to switch on.This eventually failed to switch on the unit. I had the kettle replaced and again the same problem. The kettle is not suitable for general home use ,sadly.
