Puella Magi Madoka Magica: The Different Story, Vol. 1 (PUELLA MAGI MADOKA MAGICA DIFFERENT STORY GN) Paperback – 7 April 2014

Insane fan of the original series, and Magica Quartet brings a refreshing view in this spin-off, based in an alternative timeline it focuses on the lives of Mami Tomoe and Kyoko Sakura. In the original story we only get the jist of their past lives but this manga fills it out nicely. It shows how Kyoko handles her 'wish gone wrong' and Mami's strive to be a good senpai as well as of just work with someone. Mami isn't one of my favourite characters but I felt refreshed seeing her in a non-veteran way. I'm glad it was drawn with the original artist and Kyubey is drawn in a style more like the anime. There wasn't enough Homura but I can live with that. If you're a fan of Puella Magi you really should give this a read. It helps to give Kyoko and Mami some substance.

Loved the story for this. Nice knowing more about Mami and Kyoko. If you likedPuella Magi Madoka Magica you will love this

This is a basicaly a timeline in madoka magica where Mami doesn't die. It plays out a bit differently and focuses on Mami and Kyoko as the main charachters. It also covers some events with Mami and Kyoko before the events of the anime. I recommend this if you liked Madoka Magica

A great storyline and plot. Highly recommend to any one who is a fan of the Puella Magi manga series, or the anime Puella Magi Madoka Magica. Perticularly since it is not only an alternate twist, but it gives a lot of back story to the relationship Mami and Kyoko had prior to the events of the anime.
