The Caribbean: A History of the Region and Its Peoples

The book has a lot of excellent information. Since the chapters have different authors, it is not as smooth of a read as it could be.

Although not a strictly linear history, and not written by one author's voice--the chapters are written by many experts--it reads amazingly well and is simply packed with information. A great, dense enhancement for serious readers just starting to delve into Caribbean history, or those who are seasoned and are looking for more depth and discussion.
