The media could not be loaded.  Streaming content from the internet has changed the way we watch movies and tv and listen to music. No longer to we have to deal with space-consuming physical media such as DVDs and CDs. This convenience is due in large part to the hardware we use to stream said content, whether it’s a gaming console, PC, Roku, Smart TV, or a Fire Stick. Today we’re going to look at a piece of hardware that is quickly gaining popularity in those looking for more than just a basic media streamer.The X8T is small, low powered and inexpensive computer running a skin of android aimed at media consumption. The hardware inside definitely won’t turn heads, as it’s measly 1gb of ram, 8gb of storage, and quad-core ARM based CPU won’t be able to multitask and play demanding games well at all. But, for under $40, you can’t really expect much.The X8T comes with an extremely basic remote lacking media controls like Play/Pause or Skip but does have volume controls. Furthermore, the remote is strictly IR, meaning that it must have perfect line of site at all times during use. The remote requires 2 not included AAA batteries.For I/O, we see 2 USB ports - perfect for a mouse, keyboard, or controller. I would highly recommend a small HTPC style keyboard like this one from Azio as trying to type using the included remote is slow and cumbersome. Moving on, there’s also some micro-sd card expansion which is a necessity if you plan on storing movies or music on the box itself. Moving around to the back we will find A/V out, optical audio out, a 100mbps LAN port, an HDMI port for 1080p 60hz output and finally the power input. If you don’t have access to a LAN wire you can always connect wirelessly. Lastly, the front of the unit has a small display with a clock and wifi indicator.This box does run a very recent version of Nougat and, due to this reason, you can sign in with your Google account and have direct access to loads of content from the google play store. From here, you can download Kodi, Youtube, Hulu, Amazon Prime video, or some basic games. Unfortunately, Netflix is not listed in the play store since they require a non-rooted device. More Tech-Savvy users do have the option to download the Netflix APK and manually install it that way.I’ve been using the tv box for about a week and I’ve come up with some points I’d like to hit about the tv box that I don’t like.1. If you do intend to use Kodi - which tons of people do because it allows access to virtually any movie or tv show for free - do so at your own risk. This is copyrighted content that you’re not paying for.3. Decent Google cast support would be fantastic. The included fako Miracast is a disgusting attempt - lag is 10-20 seconds and the audio constantly cuts out.3. There is no Bluetooth. This sucks when you want to connect a cheap Bluetooth keyboard.4. The remote is generally basic and requires a keyboard alongside it for a good experience.Moving on, here’s what I really like.1. Complete access to the google play store means you pretty much have a tablet on your tv.2. Video playback is the highlight of this product. It doesn’t take a lot of processing power to stream a video.3. Although the hardware is underpowered, its great for running older titles on emulators for a cheap retrogaming computer. Furthermore, easy to run games like Angry Birds or other 2d games are not limited by the internals. This could serve as an easy way to get your kids of your phone.To conclude my thoughts, the X8T is a product that doesn’t have that nice shiny finish to it. Its quirky and can be annoying to use sometimes. But at the same time, this little computer gives you the unrestricted freedom to do whatever you please with it. You can download whatever you want, modify it however you like. With that being said, if you’re looking for something that just plays your youtube and Netflix videos without hassle - buy a chromecast or a Roku. If you’re looking for something that can give you a changing and unrestricted experience, the X8T is a great buy.

Aftwr I saw several good review, so I decided to buy it. However, this is not android box as I expect.It runs by chinese operating system and they put play store in this box.The result of poor operating systemMost of the app always hang(youtube, facebook, and etc.)Not reliable at all.Even setting menu doesn't run smoothly.I have to wait to get in and out from setting around 1 min per round.Come on, I bought this box with 2 GBs which must have sufficient memory to run normal function like setting menu, but it kept lagging all the time.I decide to send it back now.P.s. once i ran youtube video.I can't do anything like stop playing, skipping ads, click next video.Every things is freezing except video which kept playing..

This machine lacks a location capability that prohibits the YouTube TV app from running on it. It calls itself an Android TV Box. Google created Android, and Google owns YouTube TV. A true Android Box should be able to run the YouTube TV program. I tried to run YouTube TV from the Chrome browser, and that didn't work either. Chrome can run YouTube TV on a laptop or desktop computer, but apparently you have to have the app for a tablet or phone. I even called YouTube TV tech support. As of the time I am writing this review, without that location capability, you cannot log into YouTube TV. Period.Since the program I bought the box to run didn't work, I can't really speak much to the rest of the capabilities of the system. However, if you don't have YouTube TV, maybe this would work for you. If you choose to buy it, I would really recommend buying the keyboard as well. At the time I purchased it, the keypad was just a few dollars more. It is worth it for the convenience of being able to type in passwords and search items more easily. The remote is very basic and can be cumbersome.

This product Bqeel Android 7.1 4K TV Box (2GB + 16GB) Amlogic is an excellent product, it has worked properly, I really liked all its functions that make my smart TV and many interesting options through the internet. What I did not like is the remote control, everything works well but as a recommendation maybe you could add to the same control some keyboard and an "air mouse" to the same remote control so you can use it in an easier way with the original remote control. Although not to have this problem with the original remote control I connected to Bqeel Android 7.1 a wireless keyboard with "mouse pad" incorporated and with this I can use it in a faster way. But it would be much better if the same original remote control had a small keyboard and an "air mouse" built in at the factory, also for when this device needs to be more mobile. Since the size it has and the weight make it very easy to move or transport which makes it very useful but please improve with adding a small keyboard to the original remote control and the "air mouse" would make it a better product than what is, already in itself is a good product that works excellently.

I was very anxious to try it. In a beginning everything was fine. Setup was fast. Connected to WIFI. and started using it. In a about an hour remote stopped working. I thought that brand new batteries were bad(it is actually a shame, not to include batteries for the remote with the product price $ 50). Changed batteries. A day of work and same situation. i am considering to send it back and get something else instead.

First off where do I start the packaging is very nice textured box comes in doesn't feel cheap at allThe remote feels great in the hand very simple to use the interface aka launcher is basic but simple I was surprisingly shocked how smooth it ran only having 1gb ramBut if you don't like the launch of the great thing with Android you can easily download different launchers that fit your styleI only wish that included the Triple-A batteries with the remote so please make a note of that you will have to get batteries AAA batteries but other than that this performs great out of the box very simple to use you can download any apps you like it's expandable so you can expand the memory with SD cardHas 2 USB slots overall for price point can't go wrong very small not big and bulky like other android boxes super light hope this review helps with your purchase have any questions feel free to ask

This was probably the easiest piece of tech I have ever set up. I had an Apple TV but heard that Android Boxes were better and sure enough this box delivers. And even though this is a small feature, one thing I really like is the no-slip backing. My Apple TV box doesn’t have that and it slips all over the place and it you always have to stand it a certain spot to use the remote. This box stays put wherever you place it. The on-screen menu is very simple and easy to follow. Great product!

I have never had something like an android box but heard it was a really popular piece of tech that everyone was getting. I heard that you could stream all the popular movies and shows through it as well. I was pretty curious but I did not like the idea of sinking so much money into something I wanted to just try out. I found this on here and I thought it was perfect as the price was low and I could experiment with my first android box.I placed the order and it arrived quickly. I liked the presentation of the box. It looks like it would make a nice gift as well. The android box itself is pretty small. It is a square and the dimensions are 4.2 inches by 4.2 inches. The height would be 0.75 inches. It has two usb ports on one side. At the back side there is an Ethernet cable port, power port, hdmi port and another port for connecting the box to the TV using AV cables ( which are not included). The front of the box has a display and then it is where the remote makes contact with the box as well. This product comes with the android box, a remote, a HDMI cable and a power adapter. The material of the box is plastic and is very lightweight. I would not think it would survive too many drops.The android box comes with the bare essentials. You have to install all other apps. The reason why everyone gets this is for free tv and movies. I quickly found out on of the main apps that lets you do this is an app called Kodi. Through that app you have to add an add-on that is called covenant. The process to install this is a little bit lengthy so I will not put it here but the guide for this is easily available online. Once you have the app installed open it up. From there you can either go into the movies or TV shows section. Then you can go into categories such as "Top Rated Movies" or "Most Popular". The categories for TV shows are similar. Once you select a movie or tv show episode the app will take a minute to sift through all the available streams it has access to. There are a lot of standard definition streams , some 720p streams, fewer 1080p streams and even fewer 4k streams. But that has just been my experience with the few movies I have watched on it. I did watch Logan on this app and chose the 720p stream. The quality dipped quite a bit during the middle of the movie as there were some very noticeable colour changes on screen and I did fell like it was not complete 720p quality.The reason why I took a star off is because some things could have been better. The first item would be the remote control. It is very clunky to use especially when typing something out. You do have the option to hook up a mouse and keyboard through the usb ports. However, other androiod boxes come with a remote that has a small keyboard on it which would have been nice. The box could have better performance as well. At times there was a lag or the loading icon stayed up for a bit longer than I would have wanted. This is more of a cost effective option for an android box and the there are ones with better specs out there. Another this is that the power cord is quite short. it would be a meter long I would say which works for me but probably will be an issue for some people.All in all this is a great android box for beginners. Kodi is one of the most popular streaming apps but there are others as well that I will try out as well. The app does offer a wide variety of content available to you without downloading anything which justifies the purchase of this box. I would recommend this.

Nice and smooth running android box. Really like the simple layout, easy to navigate as I used this one for my parents room.Its not as complicated to navigate around as other android boxes, as my parents are able to load up apps like YouTube or Netflix with no problem.Easy to setup, was practically plug and play, got it running within the day, with little to no assistance just by following the manual whenever I needed it.Only reason I gave it a 4 stars, was because of the remote. First off, its a plus that this device came with a remote, as other boxes just come with the box and you'd usually need to buy a separate remote. Anyways, we've noticed that sometimes the remote has a lag to it, not sure if it is due to connections inside the remote, or an actual input lag. Also, my parents have told me that sometimes the remote just won't work. I have yet to clarify whether the remote sometimes does not register, or recheck placement of the android box, and that maybe the travel from the remote to the box is being hindered by some obstacles?But apart, from that, the android box works well, it runs smoothly, and easy to use.
