You get what you see
I only recently started putting reviews on products, (been an Amazon customer since 2002), and I've realised that with things like CD compilations, if you don't already know what you're getting, it was a bit dumb to buy it in the first place. With the 'Now' CDs this is especially true, so all my reviews for these will be 5*, because I know the songs before I purchase, love some of them, like others & can't stand some. These are brilliant albums if you want to keep up to date with the latest pop tracks and are always easy to listen to, with the swear words cut on the more edgy ones so kids can listen as well. So if you read the track listings and like them, then buy it, if you don't then don't. Simple.

now 90 fab album.
unusually there was several tracks included in this collection, that if I had bought them separately would have cost far more than the album cost. Carry on making great value collections of music Great album constantly in use great selection of tracks and excellent value. +

It works for now.
Not bad, decent compilation of artists and songs I find I end up skipping tracks with these albums but eventually find my favs and stick with them. You do have to enjoy this genre of music, not sure if songs will ever have a cult following and probably won't stand the test of time, but it works for now.

Good, but not the strongest Now album they've done...
Well here it is the perfect album for spring cram packed of the latest chart topping hits, and I have to say it's a decent album, however it's not the 'best' Now album they've put together read on to find out exactly why I think this. Let's start off by pointing out missing songs that could've and maybe should've made the album, for a spring Now, I don't think it's done too badly at all to be fair. Ellie Goulding - Love Me Like You Do - Really thought we were going to get this track and lets be honest I think we all did, it spent 4 weeks at number 1 and funnily enough it's been missed off, however I can think of 2 reasons why this song may be absent :- * It is taken from the movie 'Fifty Shades of Gray' and I have that feeling they couldn't get the rights to use songs from that movie - Anybody else noticed that The Weeknd 'Earned It' isn't on here either? And of course that song featured in the film as well. * Another reason is that it could of course feature on Now 91 instead, anybody else noticed that spring Now albums seem to miss out a big No. 1 and it's featured on the summer Now album instead? Here are some examples :- Now 87 last year - Everybody thought we were going to get Clean Bandits' song 'Rather Be' as it spent 4 weeks and No. 1 January/February last year, and it later featured on the next album, Now 88. Now 84 missed of Justin Timberlakes' song 'Mirrors', which spent 3 weeks at number one, that later featured on Now 85. Now 81 missed off DJ Fresh's 'Hot Right Now' that later featured on Now 82. So there you have it, for the last 3 years every Now album they have bought out in the Spring they have missed out a number 1 song from around that time, so going by that, we may just get 'Love Me Like You Do' on Now 91. Therefore, those 2 reasons I just mentioned were the 2 reasons I just had that funny feeling that the song wasn't going to be on the album, and I was right ;) The Weeknd - Earned It - Just like 'Love Me Like You Do' this song is also from the Fifty Shades of Gray soundtrack and despite reaching #4 on the UK Singles Chart this song also didn't make the album, prompting debate that they weren't allowed to use songs from that movie. Rihanna feat. Kanye West & Paul McCartney - FourFiveSeconds - Rihanna has constantly appeared on Now albums in the past however she hasn't appeared since her song 'Diamonds' was featured on Now 84 two years ago, and this song has reached #3 on the UK Singles Chart so I do find it odd that it wasn't included, though I did hear from somewhere she's absent from the album the same reason Taylor Swift is absent - She may have tightened the licensing on her music. Sam Smith feat. John Legend - All of Me - Really weird that they included the solo version of 'Lay Me Down' rather than this version, as Comic Relief songs always appear on Spring Now albums, and weirdly enough this version wasn't featured, despite spending 2 weeks at number one. The solo version featured on here peaked a fair bit lower, at number #15. Union J - You Got it All - Yet again Union J are missed off a Now! album and this is their highest charting song to date, peaking at #2 on the UK Singles Chart. Mumford & Sons - Believe - All of Mumford the Sons' songs that had have made the top 40 have all made Now albums and this one peaked at #20 so I thought they would have included it, with a bit of Luck, it may feature on Now 91 instead. Echosmith - Cool Kids - A rather snazzy track we could have had, bit of a shame they didn't include it as it is a rather catchy song, it however only managed to peak at #17 on the UK Singles Chart, may have been included had it charted a bit higher and stayed in the charts a bit longer :/ Mike Magoo & Dragonette - Outlines - Thought we were going to get this song as well as it peaked at #8 on the UK Singles Chart, never known Mike Magoo to appear on a Now! album but Dragonette featured on Martin Solveig's song 'Hello' on Now 78. Axwell & Ingrosso - Something New - Great tune and probably would have made the album had it charted a bit higher featured of course in the Beatz advert but only made a rather dissapointing #22 on the UK Singles Chart however it's still higher than Calvin Harris' 'Pray to God' and Florence + the Machine 'What Kind of Man' which only made #35 and #37! Taylor Swift - Blank Space - With 'Shake it Off' not being on Now 89, I think it was pretty obvious that we weren't going to get this song on here. Band Aid 30 - Do They Know It's Christmas - Reached #1 back in December but it was so obvious it wasn't going to feature as this is a Spring album, not a Christmas one ;) So with those songs mentioned above being the only obvious songs missing I can think of, I don't think this album has done too badly at all, especially compared the likes of last years spring album Now 87 which had a whole handful of songs missing, and I think the overall tracklisting is a lot better, (Now 87 had far too many fillers) however it doesn't mean to say it's a better album, Not too many songs on this album stand out enough for me to name a few that do :- Years & Years - King (Best song on the album) Take That - These Days Calvin Harris feat. HAIM - Pray to God (Can't believe it only peaked at #35!) David Guetta feat. Emeli Sande - What I Did for Love Avicii - The Nights (Second best song on the album) Calvin Harris feat. Elllie Goulding- Outside Wretch 32 - 6 Words McBusted - Air Guitar So with those 8 being the only really really good songs just explains that this isn't the strongest Now album by any means, on a plus note however, there are hardly any bad songs or ones that i'm not too keen on these are the only ones I can think of :- Fergie - LA Love (La La) Flo Rida feat. Sage the Gemini & Lookas - GDFR Tchami feat. Kaleem Taylor - Promesses Karen Haring - Say Something Labrinth - Jealous Ella Henderson - Yours Florence + the Mchine - What Kind of Man So that's 7 songs in total, just 1 behind the amount on standout tracks this album has (8), all the other 30 remaining tracks I haven't mentioned are all mediocre/good so in all i'd say it's a pretty average album, with all songs peaking within the top 40 of the UK Singles Chart (Florence + the Machines' 'What Kind of Man' the lowest charting at #37) which is nice to see, as Now 89 had 1 song that didn't (Pitbull feat. John Ryan - Fireball which only made #49) and it also has 45 tracks just like Now 88 and Now 89 did, this also has the second highest number of tracks a spring Now! album has had (first of course being last years Now 87 which had 46 tracks) , but disapointingly only 7 number ones (Uptown Funk spending so long at the top is obviously the reason for this) I can see Now 91 being a real corker (just like last summer's album Now 88 was and summer Now album's never fail to disappoint) but as for Now though Now 90 is still a great album and I would highly reccommened it as it is the perfect album for the spring.

One go the best Now genres in a while. Finally. They have some appreciable hits!!!
I hate to say it but this mid forty year old duffer loves this cd. There is a resonance to the 80s and 90s which I'm embarrassed to say works so well. Yeh. Not down with the kids but loving their music.

Brilliant cd. The first one is full of all ...
Brilliant cd. The first one is full of all the great songs of 2014/15 so far. The second cd isn't quite so good (maybe I'm getting old as my son seems to like it) but still has some quite good songs on it.

Great album - but NO GUITAR BANDS!!
The NOW albums are still the best hits collection after more than 30 years - and I love Amazon's AutoRip "play it now" feature. However, not one ROCK or GUITAR BAND (unless you count McBusted) - PURE POP - sign of the times, I guess

The kids and myself really enjoy these a good mix we can all enjoy
The kids and myself really enjoy these a good mix we can all enjoy. Two discs also means less fighting and more sharing. I also like the fact that we can download straight to devices once brought.
