Quality molding and well engineered parts make for a very clean and easy build. I would recommend these for beginners also
I had been waiting for Hasegawa to reissue this kit and now they have. Quality molding and well engineered parts make for a very clean and easy build. I would recommend these for beginners also.

There's enough pieces for 2 units inside, but.....
So I don't think it's clear here, but there's enough pieces for 2 units inside. Yes, buy 1 get 1 free!But.....So, I didn't know what 1/35 would look like, but it is slightly taller than the height of a grown-up's thumb. Now, if you are used to snap-fit Gundam, pre-colored plastic with joints that let you pose and play with for a bit, you're in for a surprise here. The pieces are mono-tone beige. It is a kit meant to be painted. Joints are all supposed to be glued together, so pick a pose and keep it. You need to file the plastic down to change the preset angle of the legs. You actually need to drill your own hole into the arm to fit one of the hoses. Now, if you wanted to paint a cool sci-fi mech that doesn't look like a power ranger(Yeah, I said it. I love building Gundams, but let's admit it. What with the wings and unicorn horns and katanas, you know they'll never take something like that to war... in red, white, blue and yellow? Come on...) and more like a WWII tank, then Maschinen Kreiger is probably one of the coolest looking kits out there. The problem with this kit is that for the price, it is extremely simple. That's because you get 2 tiny units, but honestly, some of the pieces I had to glue together were incredibly tiny. But to no effect. Basically, I don't understand why they separated those tiny parts into two pieces. It really had no purpose. Tedious for all the wrong reasons. Tedious for the sake of being tedious. And you get to do it all over again, twice!I'm looking into the 1/20 kits now. They are sure to have more detail. But why are these kits so darn expensive? I could have bought a MG Gundam at this price, and I know Bandai would not disappoint. (Not to mention it would be 3x the size)I wish they'd just put this kit out with 1 unit inside for half the price, for the Ma.K fans that just want to get a taste of the series before busting out hundreds of dollars. For those of you serious about building a Ma.K kit, go for the 1/20's or consider something more expensive......
