This is an excellent machine. From my perspective it does not get excellent because it's software is designed to sell unnecessarily expensive MICROSOFT 'essentials' and makes choosing alternatives difficult even when one is relatively computer literate. For a new computer user who is not financially constrained it is an excellent value for money machine and capable of much more than is immediately apparent.

Lame keyboard layout - stay away
Laptop is slower than expected. But the biggest reason for the two stars is the idiotic keyboard layout. The right shift key is the smallest key on the keyboard. I read this elsewhere on a review and scoffed at the person who complained about it and thought I could deal with it. It's miserable. Lenovo recommends buying a wireless keyboard. What's the point of a laptop if I need to carry around another keyboard? Obviously the person who designed this keyboard doesn't know how to use a keyboard. Don't buy this laptop.

I am a bit disappointed in the performance, it seems to lag a lot.

You may get a refurb unit, don't believe the listing!
The one I got was a refurb, not new as stated (they ripped off the refurb sticker from the outer box), but it worked and I didn't have the ability to return it and be without a laptop.You get what you pay for.
