WARN 90288 Powersports Winch Component Accessory: Wireless Remote Control System for ATV and UTV Winches

This product was easy to install in less than 30 minutes on my UTV. It works flawlessly. I had to slightly alter the connectors and cut a couple of existing wires to connect it as diagramed in the instructions. This was real easy. I am glad to have the convenience or using my factory installed winch with both the factory rocker switch in the instrument panel and now the new remote as options.

The remote was easy to install and simple to use. The directions were clear and easy to understand. The mounting clips were convenient to place in my side by side.

My VRX 25 Warn winch came installed from the dealer with no remote, and nowhere to plug one in. I couldn't imagine how I was going to keep my cable spooled neatly with just a handlebar mounted switch, and this fit the bill perfectly.The remote has a nice bar mount system, but I just toss it in my dry box, since my bars are pretty full already. The remote is small enough to fit in a pocket, but the buttons are big enough for gloves. There's also a hole for a lanyard.The receiver is designed as a bar mount too, but just with some included zip ties. I don't have any good bar mounts under the seat where all my electronics are, so it was difficult to find a place to attach such an oddly shaped box, but it got done. Works great!

At this point in my life, having installed more than a few Warn winches and Warn accessories i've come to the conclusion that Warn, as a company think that their customers all have advanced degree's in engineering. This one was the worst for me as the winch i put it on (VRX 35 on a Yamaha Rmax) must have been a newer model than what the install instructions were meant for as my winch setup was not represented in the instructions at all. Left a lot of hit and miss during the install.That said it works great.

I just received this great accessory to the Warn winch on my Yamaha Viking 700 to more easily operate my snow plow. Do yourself a favor and get one! It was pretty much a snap to install except for the lost nut from the power block my buddy dropped into Neverland! Other than that little setback, the installation is very easy. The hardest part is finding the accessory wire to splice to. Hint: look for a red wire about the same size as the one in the included wiring harness and use a circuit-tester probe (pretty cheap at NAPA) to be sure it is only hot when the ignition switch is turned to "Accessory". Other than that, just match up the colors and connect. On first try after installation neither the remote nor the existing rocker switch worked, but we discovered my buddy had not crimped the included wire splice thoroughly enough and the connection wasn't complete. A little squeeze with the pliers and all was well.You will not be sorry if you get one!

Relatively easy to install. The mount for the remote also east to install. Make sure you click the remote all the way into its mount, or throw it in your pocket if you have a zipper. Only used it once so far but it worked perfectly and had no wires getting in my way

I am changing my review from 2 stars to 5. I had tapped a bad power source and thought the remote was DOA. Turns out the remote was fine and I was just being a moron. So I've has this thing for a few months now and I absolutely love it. Being able to control the winch while I am off the bike hooking to something makes life way easier. I like it so much I am going to get a similar version for my jeep.

Vraiment pratique avec mon VTT. Bon prix aussi. Facile à installer. Je recommande pour ceux qui on un treuil Warn sur leurs VTT. Simplement vous assurez que cette équipement est compatible avec votre treuil sur le site Warn et ensuite, le commander.

Très très facile d'installation (environ 30 minutes) fonctionne facilement et parfaitement. Mçeme pas besoin de programmer quoi que ce soit, tout est prêt à l'achat. j'en suis très satisfait et c'est tellement utile dans la forêt

I give the product itself a 5 star rating however the cost is hard to swallow. There is absolutely nothing special about this, its a bunch of plastic parts with a few cents worth of electronic parts inside. I do see this as being durable, the remote has been exposed to rain already and still works so for the time being it seems to be sealed well. Hook up is easy, very easy, everything is plug and play, no wire cutting or soldering. Wires were all more than long enough. I have the remote receiver mounted up underneath my instrument cluster. I will say that basically disassembling the front of my ATV was a PITA in order to get to the winch electrical connection controller / power box. It took about an hour everything included to install this and test it out, but literally 55 minutes of that time was spent disassembling and reassembling my ATV. It worked immediately and properly right away, included instructions are good enough to do the install without issue. One thing I did modify was the remote holder that mounts to the handlebar does not hold the remote tightly enough to keep the remote from rattling whenever driving or even idling. I fixed that with a small strip of all-weather 1/8" thick foam installed on the flat tongue part, so now as I slide the remote in the foam keeps just enough pressure to keep it from rattling. I have no issue with range, I have a 50' synthetic winch line and even fully extended with a 8' tree saver extension this remote works flawlessly. You can even use the remote for quick, short spooling, such as snugging up the winch line before driving away, it responds quickly and accurately, when the button is released the winch stops.I do recommend this product, but I recommend you use your winch quite a bit before paying for this overpriced item in order to make it a bit ore worth the high cost. I am always out playing in the snow or mud so this gets quite a bit of use from me.
