Drawing Cute Birds in Colored Pencil (Volume 2) (Drawing Cute, 2)

If you like drawing birds, this is a nice supplement to your library. This one is good for all ages, but I think best for an adventurous beginner, because there aren't detailed steps. It is also like an art gallery, showing many single drawings of birds with fun facts. I like that it has a variety of birds from the artist's region. These are definitely drawn in a cute-realistic style. I have many realistic style art books on birds, so I was very please to add this for a change of pace that is still very enjoyable. NOTE: the artist has another book available, Drawing Cute Animals. I think you to try this book as well. The animal book has MUCH more detailed drawing instructions than the bird one. But that being said, I'd recommend both books!

I bought this and the cute animals book by the same author and they are amazing. really easy to follow and great for all age groups, I hope more come out!

The author shows some pencil strokes that can be used to create simple textures. You can add more as you gain confidence. The bottom line is to start drawing and appreciate the beauty of colored pencils! I don't use large sketchbooks, anyhow, so these pics are just fine for me.

This is a great little drawing book with lots of realistic birds to draw. It's not so much of a how to book, but it is delightful to copy the images! It includes a small bit of information on each type of bird. I used water color pencils to make mine and even without water color paper they turned out great. My six year old and I are going to have fun using this book!

Nice little resource if you're a beginner

This is a cute book that my son and I have enjoyed using to learn to draw some birds. The downside is that these are not all North American birds, and many of the birds shown have no steps to show you how to draw them. Instead they just have a single image. That isn't really all that useful to help you learn how to draw. My son is a huge bird lover, and he loved the couple of birds he could draw with this - but many of his favorites show no steps, so it was nothing more than a picture book at that point. I took a star off for the lack of steps, not because this appears to be more geared toward the UK.

This book is a beautiful book with easy to follow drawing instructions and photos. We love all the books in this line. They are done so well.

Granddaughter is a bird fanatic and awesome bird drawer. This book is expertly illustrated, contains great tips, and the many included facts about wings, feathers, feet, etc really captured her interest.
