OxfordHercules Chain Lock with Cloth Sleeve and Quick Release Jubilee Clip Bracket - Black/Blue, 90 x 6 mm

I bought the Oxford Hercules Chain Lock witch Cloth sleeve on December 2015, to lock my bike in public places and also at work. I have been using it for almost six months, and it is working fine. Before deciding this was the perfect lock for me, I did some research about the different types of locks that are sold here on Amazon. I wanted a lock that was not so expensive, but that it was reliable so I could leave my bike locked and leave it alone for a while (not all night!! At night my bike is inside my home) without worrying about it being robbed. That is what I wanted and that is what I got: A reliable lock.The chain lock is approx. 90 cm long, it comes with a holder/bracket that facilitates to carry the lock when you are on bike rides. It keeps the chain on its place. Moreover, this chain lock comes with the three keys that are perfect because you can keep one with you, another one with a friend/partner and a last one at home or at work. The slot of the key chain is covered by a plastic lid, which keeps it dry and avoids any type of rust. The chain is a little bit heavy, but not too much. You have to take into account that the material is welded steel, so this chain is reliable, being a chain makes it flexible, and the cloth sleeve is still in perfect conditions, just like new. As you can read, the lock has been working pretty well.I give it four stars because there have been few times when I try to unlock it and I have to try more than once. It makes me think if maybe there is, or there will be, a mechanical problem with the lock. But as I said, this has happened few times only. And my personal advice: If you are looking for a chain lock for an expensive bike, go for a U lock.

This is a well made chain lock that does a good job as a supplementary / second lock. Wouldn't recommend this as the only lock you use as it's too light/thin but combined with a U-lock it will deter a lot of thieves. It's quite lightweight relatively, and looks durable enough, with the lock mechanics quite well made. The cloth fabric over the chain is also well made and helps protect it from scratching the bike frame. Comes with plenty of spare keys which is great as well.

This is a great lock. I would like it to be slightly longer but it does the job. It's great to have it flexible to be able to throw into a rucksack if you don't want to clip it onto your bike. It's not that heavy but definitely isn't lightweight. I found it a bit fiddly to start with getting it locked but once I'd got used to it I had no problems.

Each chain comes with a different set of keys. Tried to use a friends set of keys for the same chain and it did not work. Safe option. It would not be easy to cut it. The cover protects the chain from dust and rust. The only thing I did not like is the holder. Mine broke after a couple uses because I could not put it in an easy to reach place on my bike. Now I just took it of and put my chain around the seat. Overall very convenient.

I use this lock for my bicycle and so far have been happy with it, I am not using the holder and just wind it around under my seat.It is long enough to chain the bike to other things which seems one of the safest options ( I had a bike carried away with a lock attached between wheel and frame as old lock was too short ).

This lock is great. It's very sturdy with a thick chain, but attaches to my bike frame easily and I don't even notice it's there.It takes me about 5 seconds to lock my bike up, which is a refreshing change from messing around with a D-lock! The flexibility of the chain makes it really easy to wrap around my front tyre and through the bike rack without having to move my bike to get it in the right position.It's kept my bike nice and safe on campus, even when it's been there for hours.You get 4 copies of the key, which is useful.Great quality and great value!

One of the best cheapest bike locks you can buy.Definitely purchase if you want a solid, good bike lock, with a budget.Reasoning for the 4 stars is simply because I haven't had it for long and therefore do not know how durable it is.

Like the bulkiness of the chain. Once u place the key in lock the chain pops right off. Easy to use and once the male endIis housed back inside securely the key is able to taken back out and you can be quite safe in leaving ur bike alone.as long as u secured both the forks, front wheel and the post ur locking it to. I don't use the little bracket to attach it to my bike frame because I don't like the look of it but thats personal preference. First lock I have bought in a while soI ccan't compare to other products.
