Works as advertised
Bought for camp and it works great. Nothing leaks and it’s holding together just fine so far. I was a little concerned with the bad reviews I read but so far so good. Update: used for one summer so far and it’s still working great! I used Tephlon plumbers tape on all the connections and had no issues with leaks. I’m about to pack it way for the winter since you’re not supposed to expose it to freezing temps. I’ll right another review then.

off grid quality of life upgrade
We bought this about a year ago, original plan was to install in 5x10 we were building. Went different route and we just installed this in our bathhouse. The intake water hose was not long enough, installed a fitting & extended the hose. Then ignitor would not start, took a bit of trouble shooting as doubted the D batteries age. Eventually figured out had a seal issue with hoses, swapped to a 15' hose. Now fantastic. Super excited for upgrade from gravity camping shower/heating water in the sun or over a fire. (Have a rv/off grid accumulator ordered to help extend pump life.)

You need this if you camp or boondock
Okay this has got to be in my top 5 favorite camper purchases. We boondock a lot so we need to watch water uses. I also hate the ridiculous tiny camper shower that was made for small children. This heater took just a few minutes to figure out and set up. Instant hot water, good pressure and doesn’t use a lot of propane. Light weight easy to store. With our pop up shower and tankless heater, showers are enjoyable again!

Not even worth 1 star.
Not even worth 1 star. 1st one we ordered was missing parts. Replacement only lasted 2 uses and the ignitor went out. Now, the knows font stay where they should so the water temperature is very inconsistent. Will be purchasing a different brand.

Not hot enough
Was only getting to 98°. Water pressure was okay but definitely not a water heater for you during the winter time. Return for a different model

Nice to have a hot shower at the cabin but not reliable
Update Aug 6, 2025: When this water heater works, it’s nice. Unfortunately in its second summer of use, the pump (or the pressure-sensing switch on the pump) has failed. In any case, after about seven weeks of actual use (for an hour or so a night) we are again without a working shower. If this unit were more reliable, it might be good, but we cannot recommend it given our experience. Previous review: We purchased this shower hot water heater/pump combination for a remote cabin. The heater works well -- although getting the temperature set and stable at the desired temperature requires a bit of fiddling. The electric pump we purchased with the hearer delivers a strong flow of water to the showerhead. The heater is easy to set up and use. We did have some problems with the hose for the showerhead but Gasland customer support provided a replacement that should work well. We are satisfied with their response to our problem. (Thanks!) This unit is a nice addition to any remote site where hot showers are desired!

Terrible. Got it hooked up all perfect for my camp. Pressure was terrible. Could not return because it was too late. Now, a couple months a maybe a dozen uses later - with terrible pressure- it doesn’t even work at all. All pressure completely gone. Doesn’t stay at good temperature. All around rip off.

This thing is sketchy. The dials take some fiddling to get the temperature right. It works though. I have used mine about 25 times and am satisfied with the results.

Set it up and tried it out. First thing to know is that it will not run if propane tank is low. The 20 lb. tank that would not run the heater was later hooked up to a two burner camp stove with oven and provided gas for almost a week. So make sure you have lots of gas. Setting the heat for the water is strange. In the "summer" setting it barely raised the temperature of the 75F degree water going into it. "Winter" setting was more than hot enough, but tricky to get just the right temperature. An important coupler fitting was missing from one of the lines. I had plenty of garden hose couplers on hand and managed to improvise a fix to get it to work. Sent Gasland a message accordingly several weeks ago. They said they'd send a replacement. Still waiting.... It's an OK heater, but a buyer might want to explore different options.

Great product, with easy install. It is a bit finicky to get the right temp and water flow dialed in. But once it is, it work’s excellent
