The Royal Putnam Pillow

Having been addicted to my Putnam pillow for several years, it was time to replace the old one as I did not feel it was as supportive as it used to be. So naturally I purchased two new Putnam pillows. For me, and for my other half.The new model Putnam pillows prove rather flimsy (my old one was much more sturdy, hard and non-flexible if folded in half), and they do not support my neck as well as the old pillow when it was new. However as I had not expected the product not to be as good as the previous model, and as I have no experience with other makes, I decided to keep the pillows.The delivery was delayed and I had to chase the Seller - they were friendly and polite but could not track the delivery.I think what I would do next time is go to a shop to inspect the pillow before purchasing it. My assumption that it would be as good as the old model was a big mistake that cost £120.UPDATE a month after using the pillows: having used the pillows for a month, giving it a chance to prove its functionality, it is not supportive and I’ve developed neck pain (which I’ve not had in years, thanks to my old Putnam pillow). It is obviously not as good as the old Putnam brand. I’ve gone back to sleeping with my old Putnam pillow and it is so much better than this new version, my neck pain is gone.Given the dearness of the product and it’s poor performance, I’ve asked for a full refund. I do not normally send stuff back, I’m a responsible buyer but these pillows are a big expense and they just did not work for us (had it not been so dear I would have swallowed the cost). Great Amazon service, thank goodness for Amazon, pillows are going back.Not sure what happened to the Putnam brand, such a shame, it was such a good brand.

This low rating is not a poor reflection on the product. For some time I have had problems related to arthritis in my neck vertebrae and lower spine. Should my spine be out of alignment by the slightest degree I have a painful sleep and suffer muscular soreness during the day. The problem is worsened by the poor posture encouraged by car-seats and easy-chairs. I have tried all types of mattresses and pillows. In my younger days, I am now 74, I could have been comfortable with any. The problem is a combination of support and alignment. Most people would assume that a top-quality memory- foam product would be the answer. These "Marmite" products are either hated or loved; there does not appear to be a middle ground; google reviews and see. I fall into the former group. The reason is that I don't suit them rather than that they don't suit me.The only way to find out which camp you fall into is to "suck-it-and-see! This can be an expensive businessThe pillow was soft and comfortable to my head and neck, but it did not give me the alignment I need. I now sleep without a pillow and this had brought vast improvement.

I had an old Putnam pillow for over 10 years and it was excellent. As other reviewers have stated, the new pillow is very soft compared to the older one. I am returning mine. If you are looking to replace your current Putnam, then look elsewhere.

Smelly on arrival, it improved with airing. And now? |Well, it's a pillow and it keeps my spine straightish.I have never 'loved' a pillow, so four stars in the maximum I can give it. I can like it, but that's it. I'm not sending it a Valentine's card next February.

My husband and I have only been sleeping on these for 2 nights but they look promising. We used to wake up with a painful neck and haven’t since using it. The future looks good.I will say that info says they fit into standard size pillowcases. They do but have lots of spare material. That doesn’t hinder using the pillow though.

Very expensive for what it actually is and not good quality and Very small in size

I have used the Putnam pillow for the last ten years they use to take the strain from your neck I have sent mine back they are not the same not as good.

I seriously love this pillow. I stayed in an airbnb where the host had this pillow, and i immediately ordered it online. I used to get neck and shoulder pain and just generally wake up feeling rubbish. This has totally changed my sleep for the better!
