I am really loving my Artograph! One advantage that was mentioned to me by a local artist is that it makes it so convenient to retrace your drawings and artwork that you become more adventurous and less fearful of taking chances and making "mistakes". I use my Artograph every week, sometimes multiple times a week. It is really nicely constructed.The light is really bright; you can easily see your drawing through watercolor paper. This was definitely worth the money I paid for it and honestly I wish I had of bought it ten years ago when I first wanted to get one. For me, using a window to trace my drawings does not compare; using a window as a lightbox is difficult because you put so much strain on your arm, especially with more detailed drawings. Yes it will work in a pinch, but an Artograph is a really nice long-term solution!

Time was running out! The Alcan Boogey event was less than 8 hours away and I had just been recruited to create a 6' x 1.5' sign for this event honoring the 70th anniversary of the building of the Alaska-Canadian Highway (Alcan Highway). The surface I was using was a white plastic banner preprinted with a balloon border. I had just gotten my Artogrph 12 x 18 inch Light Tracer II Light Box. Whew! It saved the day! I generated the sign letters on the computer, printed them out and taped them, a segment at a time, to the Light Tracer. I then placed the banner material over my template and was able to trace the letters onto the sign with ease. Even with 2 layers between my final product and the light, I was able to see perfectly and work efficiently. Prior to the Light Tracer II you'd have found me struggling at the window trying to use the daylight to complete this task. What an awesome assistant! It made this project so much lighter! Just a simple, easy to use light box. The kid enjoys this light box for tracing, drawing and as a nightlight! Great value for the money as other boxes have been known to cost more.
