ARS 120DX 8-Inch Precision Pocket Secateur Heavy Duty Pruner Red

This is a great everyday pruner...durable, light weight with a great grip, cut and spring action. I’ve used felcos and okatsune which are also good but I prefer these. There are bigger pruners that will cut slightly bigger diameter but they’re heavier too. For multiple cuts all day long as well as for the homeowner this is a great pruner.

These are the best pruners I've ever used. I've been gardening for over 40 years and I love love love these! They are angled so that they are a perfect natural extension of your hand. The latch to hold them closed has a position to sit while you are working so that it will never flop over and get in your way (as every other brand seems to do). They cut easily. If they can't cut through something, then you should have started with a saw in the first place. The y shaped spring has a smooth easy action and hopefully it will withstand the test of time. I can't testify to that yet. I'm a small woman, but I wear a size large in womens gardening gloves, if that helps you figure out the size of the grip any.

These ARE the best pruner out there!! They are comfortable to use all day without hand fatigue; cut amazingly, hold their edge for months, but can be sharpened. For 25 years I owned a business making Christmas wreaths and garlands of fresh balsam. I discovered this pruner about 10 years ago and wouldn't buy any other pruner. My employees loved them!! Prior to the ARS I needed to replace pruners yearly...these last for years.

Very good quality with vey sharp blades

ARS has a good reputation for quality pruners. I had one pair that were the best ever. This new model is not as good as the heavy duty pair that I used to have. It is good for light pruning of roses and bushes but I would not recommend it for canes thicker than 1/2 inch. I am still testing my 120DX model. I wish I could review the pruners in another month to see how I did pruning 1200 rose pushes, 50 fruit trees, and 25 grapevines.A word of caution... Make sure that you buy the pruners directly from Amazon as one of the Amazon Warehouse sellers substituted the cheaper 130 pruners for the real 120DX model.

This is my second pair of these. They are better than every other hand pruner I have used. And the Amazon price is significantly lower than my usual source of Japanese tools. Instructions are in Japanese, but then, who needs instructions for secateurs?

These are the most amazing clippers ever! I have several pair and bought these for a friend who fell in love with them while using mine. They don't rust, they stay sharp, the spring mechanism works smoothly, they are easy to open and close. I've had one pair for nearly 20 years and have never had to sharpen them.For my hand (female) the fit is perfect. I can use them for several hours at a time without tiring. I am a landscape gardener and cut flower grower, so I use these all day. I think they work with more ease and precision than Felco.

ARS is litterally my go-to brand now for pruners. I dont want to invest in Felcos and I know myself well enough that I will probably ruin them or not take good enough care of them to make that investment worth it. These are inexpensive and cut like a DREAM. I keep them in my car and do a lot of foraging of big branches. These are comfortable to use, and have taken an outrageous amount of abuse from me this year. I havent cleaned them once and they still cut perfectly. For anything other than branches, I use the little needle nose snips. Try it!

I find these secateurs the best I have ever used. Very sharp, well balanced, with a very neat locking catch. I have a box full of other secateurs bought at one time or another but I am in the process of throwing them all out and buying a second pair of these so I have in one the house and one in the greenhouse. I was surprised to see there is only one review for them, and it is, in my view, very misleading. It's true that one blade overlaps the other when they are closed, so you have small triangle of sharp metal poking out, but this is clearly intentional - it gives you a handy gouge useful for poking or scratching out something, and a lot better than trying to do the same job with a single blade while they are open. They are, incidentally, brilliant for cutting up a cooked duck or chicken - infinitely better than the poultry shears in my kitchen drawer.
