I absolutely love The Black Stuff products. My path was from shower gels, to mass produced soaps, to a very well known “artisan” soap brand, to The Black Stuff. Hands down the best I’ve used.I could never really use bar soaps because it would overly dry my skin out to the point of irritation. These bars do not do that at all.They also smell great. Each one of the three in this package are very unique. Even the Pine Tar bar, which is a fairly common type of soap, has a unique scent profile here that makes it different and incredible.Citrus Cedarwood is one I’ve slept on but wow! You have a nice mix of the citrus with the earthy scents plus it has mint in it too. It also is a rough feel soap so nice grit to it.The Bay Rum is a wonderful smooth bar. It has a nice spice scent to it and so it works well with other products you may use.All three of these soaps have a wonderfully rich lather to them. You’ll just love the experience. This company also has great scents on their site beyond these three and some of those are definitely worth checking out.Needless to say…if you are a shower gel person or a mass produced soap bar person…here’s your call to try these out (or go and get one individually). If you use another brand of artisan soap, especially if they’re heavily marketed to the point of mainstream, definitely try these out. You’ll never go back.

I ordered the 3 pack and have only used the pine tar soap as of yet. First thing I noticed is the fragrance, its strong and unique. Very different than the typical pine tar scent. It has more of a lavender mint aroma to it. Caught me off guard at first but not unpleasant at all.It is very cleansing, strips anything off my skin, but doesn't leave much moisturizing afterwards. Usually any kind of pine tar soap is more aggressive than moisturizing so that's to be expected.What I did absolutely love about this soap is the fact that all the little bits of stuff in it are very uniform and never too aggressive that it hurts or even draws blood.... like all dr squatch soap does to me. This is my new favorite soap company. The scents are fresh and the grit is perfect. My Squatch bars would last about two weeks or so (tops), but these last twice that, sometimes more. Excellent value for the money.

The Black Stuff is the highest quality, best soap on the market. These three soaps are all incredible. The bay rum is a delicious mix of cinnamon and orange , almost smelling like big red gum. Citrus cedar wood is a unique mix of peppermint with a woodsy fragrance, while Atlantic pine tar is your standard pine tar with an added kick of spearmint and basil. If you want a truly all natural soap that will leave you smelling clean and making your skin rejuvenated, this collection is for you. John keep up the great work brother!

I found this independent soap maker when I decided to leave another soap maker after realizing their product quality was going down. This is hand made in Ireland and with all natural ingredients. There are many videos out there showing the process, the ingredients, and how the bars are made.As far as fragrance and feel, the smells are fantastic!! the grit to smooth feels will depend on what soap you purchase. I have tried all of their bars and have not found one I dislike even a little. Check them out and make a purchase.... you won't be disappointed. Oh yeah.... they even have deodorants that have not failed me even in those 90degree days of heat lately.

I really like this soap. The ingredients are great, it smells good, and it lasts for a good amount of uses; unlike some soaps that seem to last for 2 or 3 showers. Perhaps a little too much grit but that's really my only criticism. Have already recommended to friends.

Bought the 3 bar deal, the pine i used once and threw out. Would not lather, did not smell like much of anything. Citrus Cedarwood was ok, lathered better than the pine but not as much as a commercial bar soap, didnt smell much like cedar. The Galway bay rum however completely changed my mind and is the main reason i am changing this review. While the lather is weak, i feel cleaner, and the smell is amazing. The smell leans very heavily toward cinnamon. I really hope this is not a one off, i will order more of the bay rum and hope it is the same. The ergonomic had grip on the side is an interesting addition and it helps keep hold of the soap while scrubbing down.

The Black Stuff is better in just about every way when compared to Squatch products. From the aroma, to the use of sand as an exfoliant (as opposed to oatmeal 🤔) and most importantly, it lasts nearly 3 times as long as Squatch bars.My skin feels cleaner and more hydrated. I used Squatch for years but one bar of the Black Stuff and I’m never going back. Well done fellas/ladies.
