Product Description 3 piece rock band from Macclesfield, England, The Virginmarys took the rock world by storm with their 2nd album King of Conflict (2013) - a hard-hitting blend of rock and alternative tracks laced with a punk spirit. On the heels of the King of Conflict release, the Virginmarys went on to be the buzz band of SXSW, leading them into major support from Classic Rock, Clash, Vive le Rock, Rocksound. They have brought their highly charged live show to tours throughout the US, Japan, and Europe, and toured with such bands as Queens of the Stone Age, and more recently Shinedown. The Virginmarys now return with their new album DIVIDES, an adventurous, high energy, outspoken rock record made with legendary producer Gil Norton (The Pixies, Foo Fighters, Funeral for a Friend). Available as a CD or Double Green vinyl.

Excellent album...Rocks from start to finish....I was lucky with vinyl...it came as two green vinyl Lp's and quality is spot on..I've had a few coloured vinyl in the past which have been truly awful this is good. Only reason not 5 stars is they have spread album over two vinyls which run at 45 speed which I find annoying as have to get up and turn them over all the time which offends my laziness.. Others seem to have had issues with the vinyl....I believe this group release from two different vinyl factories...my copy was from 'wind up records' if that's any help.

A Moving and Relevant Masterpiece!
Firstly Divides had a lot to live up to after the Virginmarys stunning 2013 debut album King of Conflict and boy does it deliver with absolutely no hint of the difficult second album syndrome. The album begins with the aptly titled Push The Pedal its obvious right from the very first chord that this is gonna be Special. Matt’s Base is sharp Ally’s echoey vocal warm up sublime and Danny’s steady drums building together and then your off and its blissful rock as it should be. This is a band brimming with confidence, they have something to say and you are going to listen. There is not a bad track to be seen on this album its delivers in every way. Halo In Her Silhouette, I Wanna Take You Home and Falling Down are all steeped in a punkiness with a catchy edge. Free To Do Whatever They Say, Walk In My Shoes are personal highlights for me lyrically powerful and thought provoking. Moths to a flame and motherless land offer a more melodic touch to the album both songs are equally moving and beautiful. Divides ends with the absolutely perfect Living In My Peace which starts acoustically and slowly builds to a fitting crescendo. All the tracks seem perfectly placed on the album. Lyrically it hits the spot there are so many songs that resonate with how you feel it feels very personnel. Which is a testament to The Virginmarys skills as songwriters. It tackles disillusionment, love, addiction and social discourse in an intelligent and heartfelt manner. Divides is drenched with Truth, Honesty and passion that very few bands are capable of producing. This album is musically stunning you can hear all the instruments in all their glory Ally’s guitar and vocals are perfect, Matt’s baselines are faultless clear and prominent throughout and Danny’s drumming is masterfully brutal and powerful no other drummer comes close. Divides is simply a must buy as is Kind Of Conflict. In summary Divides is a masterpiece of relevant rock music by in my opinion the best band on the plant right now.

The future of Rock and Roll!!
What an album ! The perfect follow up to King of Conflict. This amazing 3 piece have come back better than ever......I have read a lot of reviews about the virginmarys and many have called them a punk band. I think they are much more than this, they can appeal to all genres.Ally is the most amazing lyricist who has a way saying what you are currently feeling. He is so relevant particularly summing up the angst people are currently feeling.Danny Dolan tears up the drums like no other with Kill the Messenger being a personal favourite of mine for the somewhat tribal like drum beat.Matt Rose well what a bassist with his voice perfectly supporting Ally.If you buy one album this year it must be this one, it will truly blow your mind !!The Virginmarys are truly sounding better than ever and are destined for very big things !!

Macclesfield's finest return with a cracking new album
You've made Macclesfield proud of you lads. A superb album, no fillers and a fantastic closer with "Living In My Peace", so good I had to play it again. If you love good rock music then buy it now and make these lads into stars, they deserve it.

Brilliant album, shame about the vinyl quality control.
Brilliant album - see the other reviews to talk about the music.Caution should be taken if you buy the vinyl however - I'm onto my 3rd copy of this and quality control seems to be a bit haphazard. The first copy had 2 copies of the second disc and none of the first. Second copy was warped at the bottom such that the needle was bounced off during play. It would appear third time lucky.

Again, Danny, Ally & Matt, utterly brilliant.
Utterly brilliant. Only the second album and already showing great maturity. I've listened to these guys from the beginning and I'm looking forward to spending the rest of my life with them :)
