I had one bottle to a small pond, saw a slight difference next day, if I added a second it may have helped better. So I recommend getting double of what it says. Still is great and fun to notice the difference the next day. Does stain clothes and shoes so be careful.

We use this product a couple times a year on our pond and it blues our pond wonderful!The bluing keeps the weeds down and keeps the pond much cleaner. Non toxic for our fish and other wildlife. Makes for a beautiful pond!

I like the color of the dye and it seems to do a good job keeping the algae away. The color did not last the eight weeks that is suggested on the label, but perhaps I need to use more next time. Overall, I am pleased with this. You can see the before and after pictures, with the bright green being the colored pond.

I’ve been using this product for a couple years and just bought another jug. It’s highly concentrated so just a little goes a long way. My usual dose is 6 oz. for a 1/4 acre pond. It darkens the water overnight and really helps slow down algae growth. You have to reapply when it gets diluted by heavy rains. This product doesn’t harm the fish or plants. It’s just a thin film on the surface which cuts down on the sunlight that can penetrate. It is not an algae killer but makes the pond less agreeable for the algae. My pond has an outflow pipe so a heavy rain will send the watet out pretty quickly and that’s when I have to add more. Be careful handling it as the dye can be very hard to get off skin or out of fabric.

It's been a few days since I added this one bottle. There is little if any evidence there was any dye added to the pond at this point. Dropping overall rating to one star.I've a one acre, 3-10ft deep still pond I aerate for circulation. I normally go thru 4-6 gallons of top of the line Aquashade dye a year. Looking to save a buck I figured I'd give this "1.5 acre coverage" bottle of dye a try. Nope, overnight it produced a very opaque blueish coloring but still able to view pond bottom at 3'+ depth level. Not good for sunlight filtering which is my intent. So a single bottle may be OK for appearances but not serious light filtering for growth control on at least a one acre pond. I'd have to dump maybe three bottles in to equal one of AS costing more in the long run

I have been putting dye in my pond for over 20 years and have tried all brands. Hands down this has been the best I have ever used. It has been dry so not as much runoff as usual but what I put in last fall still had some color this spring. Definitely will be my go to product from now on. Now I just need it to become available again.

We tried this product for the first time about 1 month ago. There was a lot of nasty looking algae along the edges. The lake is stocked and about 5 acres. The depth varies from 10 ft to 20 ft. We use 4 bottles. It started working on the algae immediately, each day a little more was gone. It's been over a month now, all of the algae is gone and the water is still blue. All wildlife still alive! Will use again!
