Q: Can I put them in washer ?

I have put mine in the washer on a gentle cycle and they came out great.

Q: Good for just walking?

If you can run in it, you can walk in it, but not always the other way around

Q: What are people doing about the Shoe string’s being too short?

The woman I bought these for had no issues with short shoe strings. She uses them for running so she goes up a full size to allow for expansion of her feet during the run, maybe that is why she has enough string?
