GOVALVESUS304 Electric Solenoid Valve - 3/4" NPT 110V AC Stainless Steel Normally Closed Valve for Water Air Gas Fuel Oil

I'd read what others said in the reviews for this product before I bought it, but I decided to try it anyway. I am happy with its performance. Of course, it's a solenoid without an internal flyback diode, so you'll have to add your own or the back EMF of the collapsing field when deactivating it can wreak havoc on relay contacts or MOSFETs. As with any larger solenoid coil, keeping it energized for extended periods will cause it to heat up and eventually fail. The manufacturer says not to use it for applications requiring the valve to open for more than 8 hours, but I'd recommend even less. I redesigned part of the project I bought this for to ensure there were no conditions where the valve could accidentally remain open for a long time. As a direct-acting valve, it will operate with no pressure applied; in my case, I'm using it to transfer liquid from one container to another without a pump or any significant head pressure. It always opens and closes instantly and never sticks. I've been using it nonstop since I purchased it a few months ago, and I'm pretty pleased. Time will tell if that faith is misplaced, but without abusing the coil, I expect it will last a long time.

I didn’t expect much given how cheap it was, I was pleasantly shocked. It works great.

Used this for a misting system on my A/C condenser to drop amp draw. Worked for about a week, power went out, came back on, and now it doesn't close when powered off.
