An Eclectic Ride with Heybike - An Urban Commuter's Dream
I recently purchased the Heybike Cityrun Electric Bike, 500W City Cruiser Ebike, 48V 15Ah Removable Battery, Step-Thru Electric Bicycle with APP Control, Shimano 7-Speed, Commuter Electric Bike for Adult in orange. As a newcomer to the world of electric bikes, I was looking for something user-friendly and well-crafted that also fell within my budget. In this review, I'll be sharing my impressions of this distinctive ride. After asking for recommendations and assessing my bike requirements, Heybike proved to be the ideal choice, offering the right features at the right price point.I am new to electric bikes and wanted something that was easy to use, and quality built and would fit within my price range. I'm here to share my thoughts on this unique ride. When I was asking around to see what features my bike needed, Heybike fit the bill and the price.Design and Build QualityThe Heybike showcases a sleek and contemporary design that immediately captures your attention. Its frame seamlessly combines style with sturdiness, making it a dependable companion for daily commutes or leisurely rides through town. The matte finish adds a touch of premium elegance, and the meticulous craftsmanship is evident in every detail of its construction. My husband took on the task of assembling the bike, leveraging his experience with various mountain bikes, and his familiarity with their assembly process. While I'm perfectly capable of following instructions and watching instructional videos, this particular assembly would have proven too complex for me. It appears that there may have been changes to the bike design since the instructional videos were made, as they didn't align with the components I had. Fortunately, with my husband's expertise, we managed without any issues. However, for those who may not have such assistance readily available, I would consider paying extra for Amazon's assembly service if it's an option.PerformanceOne word: impressive! The Heybike is powered by a robust electric motor that delivers a smooth and exhilarating ride. Whether you're tackling hills or cruising on flat terrain, this bike handles it all with ease. The acceleration is quick, and the pedal-assist feature ensures you're never left struggling against a strong headwind. It's like having your personal tailwind everywhere you go!Battery LifeThe Heybike's battery life is quite commendable. On a full charge, I was able to cover a range of approximately 50 miles, which is more than sufficient for most urban commutes. The battery charges fairly quickly, allowing you to get back on the road in no time. The removable battery is a thoughtful addition, making it convenient for charging or storage.Comfort and ErgonomicsAdjusting the seat height to a comfortable position for my knees did take a bit of time, but once that was sorted out, I was ready to roll. The Heybike proves to be comfortable enough for shorter rides, although for extended journeys, I'd suggest considering a gel seat cover for added comfort. The handlebars provide a comfortable grip, and the overall riding posture is ergonomically designed, which helps minimize strain on your back and shoulders. Thanks to the suspension system, it delivers a smooth ride even on the challenging terrain of city streets, effectively absorbing bumps and potholes along the way.Connectivity and FeaturesOne of the standout features of the Heybike is its connectivity options. It comes equipped with a user-friendly smartphone app that allows you to monitor battery status, track your rides via GPS, and even customize your riding experience. The built-in front and rear lights, and bell, ensure visibility during nighttime rides, enhancing safety.Price and ValueBuying an ebike isn't a decision to be taken lightly. I was aware from the start that ebikes came with a significant price tag, but Heybike stood out by including many features that other pricier ebikes often charge extra for. When you weigh the performance, construction quality, and overall convenience it provides for city commuters, it becomes a reasonable investment for those who value a smooth and enjoyable riding experience without unnecessary complications.Final VerdictIn conclusion, the Heybike is a unique and exhilarating urban commuter's companion. Its blend of style, performance, and connectivity features make it a top contender in the electric bike market. While the price might be a bit steep for some, the Heybike delivers where it counts: a seamless and enjoyable riding experience. If you're looking to upgrade your daily commute or simply want to explore your city in style, the Heybike is worth considering.

Love my e-bike
I bought two of the Heybike Cityrun e-bikes (one black and the other green). They arrived separately as the green version was on backorder. Both bikes arrived in fine condition although there was a bit of damage to both boxes. The protective packaging around the bike parts protected the bikes.I have seen some complaints in reviews about the assembly video and the manual they got are not the same as the bike they received. So, I went to the official online Heybike.com and found the most current manual which matched the bike I received.I own other non-motorized bikes and have always worked on them myself, so I do feel I have a bit of knowledge on how bikes go together. These Heybikes went together with ease. However, I would not recommend someone do it if they have never worked on a bike before (adjustments, maintenance, etc.) The first bike took me about 1.5 hours to put it together and make adjustments, being very careful. The second bike about an hour. On both bikes I did have to adjust the front and back brakes to center the rotor between the brake pads. (Great YouTube videos out there will show you how if you have never aligned Hydraulic disc brakes. )This is my first e-bike experience, and I can say I am having a great time with this bike. So far, I have got about 30+ miles. On fairly flat ground I was able to achieve 22 mph using PAS 5 and pedaling in the highest gear (7). Didn’t even feel like I was working hard. Our town sits on top of a bluff and has steep hills going to all the fun destinations. These bikes are game changers for going back up the steep bluff hills to get home. No problem with the pedal assist. Yesterday, I decided to go on flat ground with throttle only and did get up to 20 mph in PAS Level 5. I also have used it as a bike without the motor turned on and I love the gearing. My old Trek is a 21 speed and none of the sets of gearing feels as nice as this. It feels more like the feel of the gears on our old Schwinn 12 speed touring bike somehow, which is a good thing. These bikes have front and rear lights, break light (flashes), and turning lights (on both front and rear lights). What a great safety feature. That was one of the things that turned me to this reasonably priced e-bike. You do need to turn off the turn light after you make the turn. These bikes have front suspension which can be locked and adjusted. This is new to me, my previous bikes do not have front suspension. I did set it to a stiffer level for me, which is on the opposite side of the lockout (blue) lever. I felt like both bikes were set to such a low level it would be easy to bottom out on a big bump. Now that I did that, I really appreciate having front suspension!I didn’t need to adjust the handlebar position, but it is possible if you need to do that. The Hand grips are nice faux leather, with a good shape for my hands. They are adjustable and I set them to a bit lower, for my wrists. I am used to a gel seat, so this seat is not a gel seat, but I’m not uncomfortable on the seat that came with the bike. The tires are road tires without knobs. I have never heard of the tire brand and had to look it up. As far as I can tell they come from reliable manufacturer in China (Info from a MS Copilot search). So, I give these Heybike Cityrun e-bikes a thumbs up for a solid e-bike. So far, I’m having a lot of fun riding, I have not had any problems with any of the systems on either of these bikes.

Better than I thought
I was so impressed with the one I bought, I bought another one for my wife.Came undamaged and packed well. Was easy to assembly. Took about an hour, and they provide you with all the tools. Would be nice to have a little tool bag to keep them in with the bike.No cheap stuff - everything seems well made with quality material.Motor is more than powerful enough and it is very intuitive to use. I use the pedal assist and it works well. It does a little too much work for my liking and not sure how to turn it down.So far have not done a long enough ride to were down the batteries.I tried to get the app to work - because I thought I could adjust the amount of assist with the app - but so far have not figured it out.Customer services was great - thought I was missing a part, but learned it was shipped separately.

This bike has been a disaster
As soon as I got the bike, 7th gear was skipping (forward off the teeth of the gear). I've spent so many nights trying to fix this. Every part on this bike is unattainable, so specific and hard to find. Who would make it this way? None of these parts are available? And why should I have to fix it when it's only a couple months old? The cassette needs replacing but I don't even know where to get it from, and I don't trust HeyBike's quality control enough to get one from them. Support takes forever to get back to you, also, and they don't even list part numbers for the bike in the manual, makes no sense. Would not recommend.

These bikes are awesome! They perform splendidly
My partner and I went trail riding everywhere with them. They're quiet and perform beautifully. Couldn't be happier with them. If you see it and want it- get it! You won't be disappointed.
