Make sure you have full sun. This aerator will not run unless in full sun and will not run on overcast days. The battery is not enough to keep the aerator running on overcast days or at night. In full sun it will run all day and shut off at night or when overcast. Overall, its a good pump however due to limited usefulness (will not run at night or on overcast days) its not really worth it. We may try and add a battery bank to make this aerator useful as then we can store power for nighttime or cloudy conditions.

Acknowledged problem. Do not have a replacement part. Sending a lesser functioning part (no internal battery).

The media could not be loaded. UPDATE! Full sun required! A thin cloud passed over the solar panels and stopped the pump. I think it needs a larger external battery that can actually hold a charge.

I got this unit to add so O2 to the pond after a torrential storm pushed a lot of organic matter into the pond , leaving me with a duckweed problem and diminished oxygen supply for my fish. I made a “frame” out of construction angle from the hardware store and put it on a T post made from some pipe. I bought an additional 100’ of hose for my application. One aerator is about 8’ deep and the other about 12’.The controller makes the pump oscillate when the clouds obscure the sun. Alas the clouds abate the controller puts the pump into a continuous duty mode, and when optimal sun brightness and angle are occurring the controller kicks the pump into high gear.You can see and hear in my video how the pump is oscillating and the goes into continuous mode as the cloud moves away! And you can see that even when the pump is oscillating it continues to push air and make bubbles!You can see I put the pump and controller in a wooden shipping crate I had from something else, and I think it’s going to work great in the shade under the solar array.Unless there is an issue with durability, I would give this kit 6 stars if I could! I’ll report back after the unit has been in place for awhile.So far so good; thanks for an awesome kit!10/23 since I wrote this review I have received the battery/control box and installed. It eliminates the pulsating and only runs the puma when there is a solid 24v available. Works like a champ.Also, I am coming out of a long hot Texas summer. The sun was strong and this unit ran for some VERY extended cycles, and it is still running strong, just like the first day. I have also added a 100’ extension to one of my bubblers. It has noticeably less air than the one on the 50’ hose but still works very well. And the positive impact to the pond is also very apparent. The duckweed is 90’ abated! I’m VERY happy and satisfied with this aerator system!
