Excellent product

I did not have a blank for a vehicle key as all of our vehicles have those new style of keys with the side channels. However, I did use this tool to cut out a spare house key and it worked! I basically used the same method shown in the video above with the sharpie and the original key to establish the layout and went from there.

it works, but it's very hard to read the scale markings on the tool. it also doesnt work well with the shape of some keys, especially old round GM door/trunk keys. I did get this tool to work, but it's not user friendly. I'd recommend having a few extra key blanks to practice on. I ruined several while figuring this tool out.

These take some precision and patience to use, but I have code cut, and duplicated car and house keys. I would recommend using a set of depth and space keys if originating keys. This cutter works well for most keys, however I do not recommend it for use with Kwikset and similar keys that use wide pins. The point on this cutter makes the cuts too narrow for the lock to operate. The cuts are perfect for schlage and master. This cutter also works well for older car keys including 60s-90s GM single sided keys, and 70s-80s Ford double sided keys. This cutter will not work for Y1, RU45, or similar Keys because the blade portion of the key needs to lay flat on the tool to cut properly.

These are heavy duty and sharp. They come with some nice gloves and are easy to use, especially in the field, if you have to cut a new key. Nice quality and heavy duty!
