Beautifully made
Review of the binder only, as the Filofax inserts are common across all of their range, you either love them or hate them. Background: I've owned several A4 and A5 planners over the last 20 years, and tried to integrate them with electronic systems, ie as is the case for many people with MS Office, in particular Outlook, Calendar and Tasks. Outlook is still behind the curve wrt converting a task into a time schedule, and like many people I always hand write meeting notes and associated actions. I have a system that works for me for managing tasks in my Outlook calendar, but have struggled with capturing hand written notes into that system, as I'm using the GTD approach. More recently I was using a wipe clean notebook with Office lens to capture the pages electronically into OneNote, but tbh I struggled with the discipline of regularly cleaning the pages, and having to do an entire book is a pita, so that didn't last. So, onto the Malden, I decided I would resurrect a planner system to capture and order meeting notes and actions, so I don't use the calendar in a planner, that's what Outlook is for, and works well for me. I've got fed up of filling random A5 jotters and notepads with no systematic method for capturing everything in a timely manner, so have decided to buy what is a fancy notepad into which I can set up my custom system using standard filofax inserts and DIY sheets. It's a much more pleasureable thing to own than a Tesco notepad, and looks a bit more professional too now that we are all getting back to F2F meetings again. It's also more useful, as there are pockets for business cards, pens, odd scraps of paper, receipts etc but that's standard with a planner. I particularly like the zipped section, as it holds extra pens (laser pointer, eraser, and eraseable ink pen), and the back inside cover has a notepad slot, so my A5 refill pad sits in there. I can still capture all of the written notes into office using Lens app, and I have set up a simple GTD system to process tasks from the written sheets into allocated time slots in my Outlook calendar. A bonus is that the washable pages from the cheap copy of a rocket book (that works just as well btw) also fit into the Filofax ring spacing, so I could use them as well if I was inclined to do so, just another option. The only downside (a plus for many though I'm sure) is that the open grain is untreated, so will scratch and scuff. I'm not a fan of the worn out distressed look personally (which is why I bought a Finsbury A4 binder a few years ago) so i will be regularly treating it to some leather cream, like Colonil or similar.the other thing to bear in mind is that this is a floppy folder, i.e. the flaps are not re-inforced; so if you like things to be stiff, this might not suit you!In summary, I love it, very nicely made, feels like it will outlive me, and looks fabulous. It's hugely practical, and given how much I've spent on it, I'd better make the planning system that I've devised for it work.

Best Filofax by far
I have owned man Filofax products over the years and the Malden is the Rolls Royce of them all.The Leather is antiqued and is extremely supple, which makes it feel like a family heirloom that has been passed through the generations. The zipped pocket at the front is ideal for emergency cash and the business card holders (six of them) are a generous size, allowing for taller European cards.I use Parker pens and the leather pen loop is a perfect size for these. The pockets at the back allow a notepad to be added. Either a police style pad with a top hinge or a side opening one like the Field Notes, or slim Moleskine work well.Build quality is excellent and the leather is superb! The Malden will last for years and probably just get better! The price on Amazon is very good for what you get too.

Lovely colour and a more practical pen loop
This is one of the good Maldens. The leather is good, the pen loop is now usable. Otherwise it’s what you’d expect from a Filofax Malden.

Very tight pen holder
Really nice product and very well made. Lots of great features on it which I will definitely use. Can see the look of it will only but improve over time. Only negative is pen holder is so small. I like to write in a fine line pen which to my mind is very slim but still does not fit! Hence not 5 stars

Beautiful
Basically a leather wallet with rings system for budgeting, shopping, quick notes. Very durable and easy to wipe clean. Came in a nice box and has diary inserts. Very useful and good for on the go.

Don't buy as provided with 2023 diary in November
Nice product if it was a year ago. Its November 2023 and provided with a 2023 diary. This evidently is an issue with Amazon stock. Filofax have responded brilliantly and sent a 2024 diary.

Good quality
Having ownes and used a faux leather version for several years i decided to upgrade to a leather one as the faux cover was peeling away. Really happy with the quality of the leather on this filofax - definitely worth the extra money to upgrade.

Very pretty
This pocket notebook is just perfect in every way. It's made of full-grain leather and smells divine. The design is timeless and so is the color. Love everything about it.

Beautiful!
The media could not be loaded. Update: after 4 months of use, this planner is even more beautiful, it’s starting to show a very nice patina, it’s a richer, darker brown and it’s softer than ever. Very happy with my purchase.I bought this Filofax Malden in personal size from Amazon. It was “used - as new” and it arrived in perfect condition. I’m assuming it was a return because it doesn’t look used at all. Probably someone didn’t like it and sent it back. I love it! It’s beautiful, soft and squishy. The rings are perfectly aligned, it holds a lot, looks, feels and smells like real leather, definitely not a fake. It is different from my other ochre Malden planner in pocket size that is a bit darker and shinier than this one but that’s how the Malden is. No two Maldens are the same. I own 3 in different sizes/ colors and they are all different. Doesn’t mean they’re fake; just different. Having said that - I looked at the pictures someone posted of a yellowish planner with almost purple zipper - I don’t know what that is about, it looks weird to me too. I purchased mine from Amazon and it’s perfect!
