True longevity & happy to purchase 2 more
Oral-B Pro 1000 Rechargeable Toothbrush has not disappointed me. I’ve had my own since 2019. It still functions beautifully. The one thing I’ve noticed is the battery charge doesn’t last as long as it did when it was new. I could go 2 weeks or more without charging. Now it’s about 1 week & I need to charge. I do brush morning & night for the full 2 minutes. I love everything about it. I don’t have sensitive teeth thus my teeth can handle the deep cleaning it provides. I really don’t recommend this if you do have sensitive teeth as I feel it would be too harsh. The timing function works wonderfully for it tells me when to move onto the next area of my mouth. ••To prevent a yukky mess that drips down I have learned 2 things: I thoroughly run water under the brush while it’s running to fully clean it. This, however, doesn’t prevent yuk from your brushing from forming down where the brush head meets the toothbrush. I became tired of a toothbrush that had dried toothpaste on it even though I thought cleaning the head was enough. Unfortunately the yuk does collect at that area & begins the mess. To prevent that I do now take the head of the brush every time I use it now. I just sit in to side in a dry cloth. Hence a clean brush. Since my purchase I’ve purchased 2 more. One for my husband who was told by his Dentist he needed an electric toothbrush because he was developing gingivitis. He loves it because it’s so easy to brush now. The toothbrush does all the work. At first he was doing the brushing & ruined the head a little. So a reminder this does the brushing for you. You only need to move the brush around your mouth. Since having mine I haven’t had one cavity. One thing my hygienist did mention when I first got it was I wasn’t getting high enough to my upper gums. Now I make sure I do. I also purchased one for my 15yo Son as his Pediatric Dentist said it was okay & recommended that he start early with an excellent choice in toothbrushes. For $50- the price hasn’t changed since 2019 - this is well worth getting. For multiple reasons as I feel I thoroughly cleans my teeth. Once I began using this my mouth felt clean & fresh & it does every time I use it. I also feel using an electric toothbrush has saved $ I’d be spending on dental bills. The cost always swayed me away from making the purchase but I’m glad I did. Obviously since mine still works since 2019 there’s definite genuine quality with Oral-B. The box does state it comes with a 2 year limited warranty & there is a 60 day risk free trial. The paperwork details are in the box. For all I’ve written I highly recommend this Oral-B electric toothbrush & I don’t feel you’ll be disappointed. ••I do not purchase genuine Oral-B brush heads. From the beginning I’ve purchased a generic version from Amazon which have worked perfectly. My pictures reflect how nicely it’s packaged upon its arrival.

Great electric toothbrush
Hope they never discontinue these toothbrushes for the io versions. Head brush cleans teeth like you were at the dentist. 5-speed power, charger lasts for years. Great clean, white teeth.

Good basic electric toothbrush with helpful pressure control
I purchased this as a replacement for another Oral-B electric toothbrush I had previously. The Pro 1000 is definitely a more basic model in comparison, but it's actually been helpful for a specific issue I was having. Why I bought it: My dentist told me I was brushing too hard and needed to lighten up to avoid further gum recession. I've been using the feather/sensitive mode exclusively and it's helped me develop gentler brushing habits. I haven't tested the other modes yet since this one is working well for my needs. What I like: The timer feature is helpful - it buzzes every 30 seconds to remind you to switch quadrants and signals when you've hit the dentist-recommended 2 minutes of brushing. The gentler brushing mode has been great for protecting my gums. What could be better: Unlike some other models, this toothbrush doesn't automatically shut off after the 2-minute mark. It just keeps running if you're not paying attention, which seems like an odd design choice. You have to manually turn it off.The battery life is also underwhelming. I find myself charging it more frequently than I'd like for a rechargeable toothbrush at this price point. Bottom line: If you're looking for a basic electric toothbrush with gentler brushing options (especially if you have gum sensitivity issues), this is a solid choice. The pressure control feature is genuinely helpful. Just be aware of the battery life limitations and lack of auto-shutoff.

Simple, effective electric toothbrush - gets the job done
This Oral-B Pro 1000 is very loud, but not a deal-breaker for me. It's a simple, basic rechargeable toothbrush that does what it's supposed to do. The 30-second reminder helps you switch quadrants, and my teeth feel genuinely clean after brushing. There's no automatic shutoff, which I actually appreciate since I like a few extra seconds to brush the inside of my cheeks and roof of my mouth. Straightforward and effective - no complaints!

Good quality, works great
I've always used a regular toothbrush until recently when my dentist recommended I switch to an electric. The first one I bought didn't work out very well, it was one of the high frequency ultrasonic types. It was uncomfortable to say the least and it felt like it would vibrate a crown loose. Kinda' like stuffing an angry badger in your mouth.......I've never actually tried to do that but that was the best analogy I could come up with. But this one is somewhat circular, more along the lines of what the dentist uses. It works well and is much more comfortable to use. It still has some vibration but nothing like the angry badger effect.

Good value - depending on your expectations
I have had a few previous electric toothbrushes and this one is just ok. My previous toothbrush was the Oral-B Pro 1500 which started rattling inside, and got progressively worse after just 3 years (I never dropped it). I hope this one lasts longer. Compared to the Pro 1500, this Pro 1000 doesn't seem to have as much power or maybe the battery is weaker. I know the Pro 1000 uses a nickel metal hydride battery (takes about twice as long to charge) while the Pro 1500 uses a lithium ion. I also read one review that said the motor in the Pro 1000 is not as powerful as the motor in the Pro 1500. According to the specs, the Pro 1000 has a pressure sensor that alerts you if you are using too much pressure. As with some other reviews, I sure cannot identify any such sensor in the Pro 1000. The pressure sensor in the 1500 is quite evident when you apply too much pressure. I'm not overwhelmed or underwhelmed with the Pro 1000, and will continue using it. And at $50, I know it is not a top of the line model. But I think it has good value for the price and gets my teeth clean. If it weren't for the good value, I would have rated it as 3 stars. UPDATED 06/20/2025 - After using it for a few weeks, I finally returned it and bought the Oral-B Pro 5000. The Pro 5000 is almost twice as expensive but is so much nicer. After exercising the battery on the Pro 1000 a few times, the charge went from 4 days to 5-6 days. Not a huge improvement, but at least 25% better. The biggest issue I had after that was the motor running slower every day after a charge. So each day, it would be slower than the day before. On the 5th or 6th day (before the light indicated that it needed to be recharged), it was running at maybe half the speed as after a full recharge. So after more research, I ended up buying the Pro 5000 model. After just a couple days with it, I am so much happier with this model. The Pro 1000 was like a Nissan Sentra and the Pro 5000 like an Infiniti. I just use the basic functions on the Pro 5000 (bluetooth and seeing my brushing habits on the app are just gimmicks as far as I'm concerned). I did downgrade it to 3 stars.
