How to Self-Publish on desertcart: The Essential Step-by-Step Guide to Publishing Success Review: Clear, Concise Introduction to Help You Get Started - This is a clear and concise guide to self-publishing, as an ebook or paperback, with desertcart. The author offers tips and tricks for choosing a marketable topic and navigating the different steps to get your book published. The overall message is that anyone can do it and the process is not nearly as difficult or complex as one might expect. The voice and complexity of the writing is perfect for authors who have not published before. It is not jargony and is very easy to follow. At the same time, the author never talks down to the reader, nor wastes time explaining things that any educated adult already knows about publishing. It is also worth noting that reading this book, I felt like I was getting practical advice from someone with experience, who has successfully self-published. If any of the content of the book was AI-generated, I could not tell. When it comes to individual steps in the process, the author gives multiple options for how to get it done, whether you do it yourself or hire someone else to do it for you. I especially appreciated the information about services and software that are available and organizations you can join. The biggest room for improvement is that I would like it to read more like a reference book or guide, with an index, helpful tables, checklists, and summaries. It may be too short to have an index, but I really wish it had lists of services, organizations, and additional resources in the back. This is not a guide to the writing process, nor about how to make a living as a self-publishing author. The book does not lessen the amount of work you will need to do on your own if you want to actually make money. For example, you will need to do your own research on available services and products, learn new skills in using word processing and desktop publishing software, figure out your own path for marketing and social media, and ultimately learn from your own missteps and mistakes. It is perfect for anyone who has wanted to get something in print but does not know how. Professional authors will find it useful. It is really good for those of us who do something else for a living and just want to get started. Overall, I highly recommend this book for anyone who wants the basic nuts-n-bolts of self-publishing on desertcart. Review: Technicality Simplified! - Great publication for writers -- either amateur or professional! Most of my questions were answered within the first few chapters. Further reading very informative for marketing ideas. I will finish reading this book and place with my most valued reference books.

Good basic info
Informative, a good starting point for self publishing.

A great manual for self-publishing your own book.
For a person who has never written or published a book, this book is an excellent tutorial for doing just that, particularly for publishing a book within the Amazon publishing process. Cann gives the reader clear step-by-step process for publishing their book. However, how to write the manuscript of the book is totally up to the reader.

Where is the information?
It’s been way too much time on things people probably already know about Microsoft Word, etc. and not enough time on what people need to know about publishing. It seems organized, but Really isn’t. The info was broken up into way too many different sections so it’s not coherent, nor complete . It focuses mainly on Kindle, which is not what I was looking for at all. There’s some useful pieces of information but not anywhere near a quarter of a books worth.

Buyer Beware
Buyer beware…short book with large font. It’s like an oversized article instead of a book. The “book” is short on details and long on redirects. Redirects? If the reader wants to learn the mistakes most commonly made by authors, the book redirects the reader to signing up for emails. In another part of the “book”, the author mentions vital information…however…one must read his blog to get the information. I bought this book thinking that the book itself would contain the information to which the book title refers. Silly me. Title should have been “How to Create a Fake Book and Hook Reader Into Doing Things That Benefit Author”.

Great resource
I purchased three books on this topic and after reading his and then reading the other two I can tell you for certain that this one is the most comprehensive. My book gets published in the next two days.

An extremely informative guide for anyone wishing to publish their book on Amazon, with very clear instructions in an easy to understand format that takes the reader through the basics of publishing from the start to finish of the process.

Aimed at American market. Sadly did not find it helpful.

Not very explanatory

This is a useful basic book, but I find it very expensive for what it is. Very large print in the paperback book I bought means that there is nowhere near as much information in it as the '115 pages' might indicate. It's also geared to the US market and some of the info is less relevant to a UK reader. I was disappointed to find it not as detailed as I'd hoped. I wish I'd bought a different book.
