A true citrus press/juicer combo
It's tough to pick between the speed of a commercial citrus press, and the small footprint and low cost of a household juicer. Or rather, it _was_ tough to pick, until I found the Gourmia citrus press/juicer combo. This wonderful device combines the press action of juicers costing five times as much with ease of a household juicer.Faster and with better yield than any other juicer I tried, this device handles oranges, grapefruit and lemons equally easily. Cleaning is a cinch, with all parts being dishwasher safe. One nice touch is the lockable pouring spout, which allows you to squeeze 5-6 cups of juice before having to empty it into glasses. The spout is located 5.5 inches above the counter, allowing for most long drink glasses to fit directly under it.Be aware, though, that it is considerably bigger than most household juicers, albeit smaller than commercial ones. The large motor and the lever result in an appliance that can take up valuable counter space. If freshly-squeezed juice isn't a frequent part of your diet, this device might be an overkill for you.April 2017 update: After half a year of intensive use, one of the two spring-loaded ball-studs holding the Fruit Press--the cup that pushes the citrus from above--finally gave out. Using some duct tape, I was able to thicken the gusset so the part remains in place, but this is certainly a design flaw in an otherwise expertly engineered machine.November 2018 update: After two years and some 800 cycles, the machine still works well. The lockable pouring spout, which I originally highlighted as a feature, seized up and stopped working after about a year. I was able to force it into the open position, so the machine can still be used, albeit only with an attached cup. I don't expect appliances to last forever, but it seems that a minor change in the design of the spout and the fruit-press cup locking mechanisms would greatly extend the life of this otherwise perfect product.October 2019 update: After three years and well over 1,000 cycles, I finally retired the juicer. The inside of the plastic fruit-press cup started disintegrating, having been pressed against the acidic peels of thousands of oranges, grapefruits and lemons. No complaints here; I got my money's worth.

Awesome product to have!!!
This item I will rave about because of how easy it is to operate as well as so easy to clean. I was a little hesitant to order this item but when I started using it, I was amazed. I have arthritis in my fingers so squeezing juices out of fruits especially the citrus ones is a huge job. We have an orange tree and it is very productive this year. I would see the oranges falling on the ground and just rotting. It breaks my heart to see it waste away. I picked some to juice it but I only have the manual juicer. That was not a good idea as I can barely use my hands for 2 days due to the pain resulting from manually squeezing about 15 oranges for almost half the day, So I checked out some electric juicers and this it what I settled for. PERFECT item for me!. I did 80 oranges in about 30 mins without the pain in my hand and mess on my counter. It was not noisy and just a breeze to use. The handle is extremely helpful due to the condition of my hand and you don't have to press hard to juice. I AM EXTREMELY HAPPY with this product. In as much as it is such a perfect machine for me, it probably can use some upgrades. The top portion where the pulp is extracted can probably use a cover so that bigger seeds don't go flying out. Since this is new, I wonder if the plastic parts will not disintegrate from the acidity it gets. I do have a habit of washing everything before putting them away so hopefully it lasts and will not break right away. In my opinion, it still looks a heavy duty appliance that is very dependable. I can now enjoy the fruits of my very productive tree.

GMJ9970 Juicer
Saw this juicer at a bar in St. John USVA and had to have one. Very sturdy and works amazingly to squeeze limes and oranges for fresh margaritas and love using it instead of my old hand juicer. Only reason I'm giving it 4 stars instead of 5 is the stainless steel cone strainer is very tight fitting in the stainless still cup and cannot be removed with just your hand turning it. The whole cup/strainer sits in the unit and removes easily but we have to use a skinny object/tool, such as a nail, to poke into one of the strainer holes of the cone strainer to assist in the strainer removal/replacement of strainer inside the cup. I contacted the company by phone (after-hours and left detailed message) and received an email from an associate telling me to "simply turn it to remove it". So, I responded with an email fully explaining that my problem was it that it could not be removed by simply turning it and received another email stating pretty much exactly the same message as first email and "Happy Juicing". Seriously? Was my response and asked if he/she actually read what I completely explained was the problem and told them to just forget it since obviously a replacement stainless steel cup/strainer doesn't seems to a viable option because I certainly didn't feel like returning the whole unit and maybe they should provide a "tool" with unit for removal of strainer or recommend something to use if strainer doesnt easily come out by hand. So, I just keep a nail in drawer by my sink and use it every time I need to remover replace the strainer. Hopefully strainer will loosen over time but if not Im fine with that. The slight pressure needed with the nail does no harm to the strainer hole at all because the strainer is made of thick sturdy stainless steel.
