I purchased a GPS Preparation for my recently acquired 2016 R1200RS from France for $310. Realizing a good used compatible GPS, Garmin Navi V (better than VI as I heard) or VI would cost me $450 or more, I decided to compromise. This inexpensive cellphone adapter for the GPS cradle fits really well and has decent build quality. It comes with 2 USB charging sockets that can charge your cellphone(s). The spring-loaded mechanism to hold the phone in place seems to be safe and expected to last for a long time.One problem I have with my OnePlus 7t phone is that the tight holder keeps pressing on the volume up/down button causing some annoyance. I have also installed a separate cellphone holder on top of my front brake fluid reservoir and considering keeping the phone there. The bottom line for me is that this is still a cheaper, acceptable alternative for me to use my phone's GPS while riding. I did not want to draw a line tinkering with the bike's fusebox or the battery. I do plan to purchase a Garmin Navi eventually when I get rich!

Good part

Didn’t wirelessly charge my phone in any position, case or no case. So… not worth it. As a mount only it works fine, sturdy and secure. But the feature I wanted it couldn’t provide. Hard pass.
