If you’re looking at the Ainiv Micro Wire Cutter for book nooks, miniature kits or model making, I’d say it’s one of those inexpensive tools that punches well above its weight. Rating: 4.5/5 Pros: * Very sharp flush-cutting blades that leave a clean cut on plastic sprues and fine wire. * Spring-loaded handles make long building sessions much more comfortable. * Compact size is ideal for getting into tight spaces on intricate kits. * Excellent value for money – it’s hard to complain at the price. * Comfortable rubber grips provide good control. Cons: * Like most budget flush cutters, they’re designed for soft metals, plastic and fine wire only. Don’t be tempted to cut hardened steel wire or thick piano wire unless you fancy buying another pair. * The cutting edges can lose their razor-sharp finish after heavy use, although that’s true of many cutters in this price range. For book nook builders: These are perfectly suited to snipping laser-cut tabs, trimming LED wires and cutting cable ties. The flush cut helps minimise the little “nibs” left behind on plastic parts, meaning less sanding later. Verdict: If you’re just starting out, these are an excellent first pair of flush cutters. Quality snips, nice and sharp.

Good pair of detail cutters. I bought to aid model wooden ship building, cutting fine wire etc. Allows cuts flush up to edges of assembled ship parts etc. One star drop due to blades having a slightly thin/flimsy feel, they have ‘twisted over’ a thicker wire, not sure they will last a long time in frequent use, but ok for my purpose.

Does the job!

Lovely little wire cutters however only lasted 7 months before the one blade snapped & flew off during use. Good job I was wearing safety glasses as was dangerous.

Absolute pants. I’ve been buying “model 170” side cutters for years. This is the first pair that don’t even open wide enough to cut coax or mains cable. You may well think they aren’t designed for that - but they are, it’s the first use shown the pictures on the page!! Please see the pictures. The pair of the left are these, pair on the right are previously purchased 170 cutters from Amazon. Having said that, I can see they are badly made & would probably snap if you tired to cut anything more than modelling plastic. Very poor quality. Returned
