the seat comes with 2 sets of straps on each side, one set higher and one lower. the lower strap sets are not useful on a sit in kayak as they are meant to keep the seat from sliding forward ( the top sets pull the seat top forward) , but you need to anchor the bottom of the back somehow.in the 3 pictures, the yellow kayak shows prior to install. notice the seat back is fine but not comfortable as too short. i placed the new over the existing one placing the front anchors at appropriate distance forward as can be seen in the red kayak attaching the top set of straps. I removed the bottom sets of straps from the buckle ( leaving the buckle in place). Then used separately sourced velcro straps ( about 12” with a buckle) to tie the new seat to the old seat back securing it back and up.I haven’t used it yet but it is a huge improvement in comfort for my old back!

Broke under moderate use. Cheap brass plated metal. Snapped on me while doing a limbo move under a log. Mind you im 6'3" and weigh 150 lbs soaking wet so it didn't take much stress to break it. So I'm cutting the rest off and replacing them with these heavy duty stainless. The seats are the same inexpensive seats we've all been buying for years only now some are coming with worthless hardware while claiming it's brass. Technically it's brass plated so I guess that's their loophole. The clip on bag wont last but a few adventures, especially on saltwater. I'm going to fasten an improvised dry bag. Adapt, improvise, and overcome. I use an air seat pad and an adjustable air lumbar for ultimate comfort and so the comfort of the actual seat doesn't matter as long as I can depend on back support. After 20 plus years of kayaking, I always go cheap on the seats and spend the money enhancing it. The expensive seats wear out at the same rate as the cheap ones and your butt will eventually find the bottom of any seat. I will look much closer at the images presented before I order next time now that I know to look for the absolute shiniest hardware. If it looks too good to be true......hope I helped.

They are very comfortable, feels durable, live them.

Haven't broken them in yet but I've had an ocean kayak with old broken seats for years and just never got around to buying new ones. These are an absolute game changer you can crack your back in these things 😂 super solid if they hold up over time then they're a 10/10
