Great product
The cycle path I use in Melbourne is far from smooth and I was getting lower back pain. The shim I ordered to fit the 27.2 post to the 30.0 mm tube was the wrong size, but I was not required to pay for it and I re-ordered. So I had to wait a while to fit it.An amazingly smooth ride now. Even big bumps and dips, I don't feel. The bike does, but I don't.Never written a review before, but I felt compelled to give credit where it's due. This product does what it claims to do and is easy to fit (when you get the correct shim ,if you need one).

Oh Yeah! You've Got to Try It.
This thing is fantastic. I did not know what to expect - if I was going to be constantly bouncing up and down or feel like I was riding on a pogo stick. Neither happened. This device softens hard expansion joints in the asphalt and moves with your natural up and down motion. I honestly forget it is even there until I feel it give way under a hard bump. I am amazed by the build quality and the results after installing it - which, by the way, is a piece of cake. It is one of those rare products that you honestly love to have. I rate this a 10.

GREAT ADDITION FOR THE CRAPPY AUSTRALIAN ROADS
Great addition to my Velectrix. It doesn't completely remove the bumps but it certainly helps and is worth the money in my opinion if you have a hard tail bike.It bounces back and forth without too much notice and it doesn't sway from side to side which other models may do.Too early to say how long it'll last but it appears to be well built and very easy to maintain.Plus it came with the cover for dust protection.Like someone suggested: get the smallest size pole with the suitable shims for your bike and you can transfer it from bike to bike rather than buying too thick of a post and then having to buy a new smaller one for future bikes.

Great option for those that can't afford a good full suspension mountain bike
My son didn't want to stand up while biking when going over bumps. Dad I need a full suspension mountain bike, but son I just bought you your hardtail mountain bike.Answer: Well I can buy a suspension seat post that will take some sting out of the bumps. There are a lot of cheap suspension seat posts that look like you would be sitting on a pogo stick. No thanks. There are some very expensive suspension seat posts, which cost upwards of $250.At $90 this seat post is not too expensive, and once setup properly works very well. My son is very happy with his bike now. He can ride over bumps and stay seated. This is a great upgrade to your hardtail mountain bike.

Well worth the investment
Application: Female 72 years, 5’5” ~133 lbs reasonably good physical condition and athletic; with total hip replacement in last 12 months.Purchase this seat/saddle post to be used in with new e-bike we are over 70, and with age it is important to search out best in class products to help mitigate ride discomfort during and after the ride. In addition to the active post I purchased a saddle upgrade from the OEM supplied with the e-bike which was Terry Cite C Gel Italia which is a Touring design you will find my review on Amazon. The SP12 NCX is very robust in materials of construction so do not see any potential for premature product failure. Great value when compared to cost of rear suspension bike.Important points to check and consider:Rider weight will determine the spring compression rating the post is supplied with the standard spring140-180 lbs, there are two additional springs sold separately Blue 140 lbs or less and Red 180 lbs + ~ $25 for optional spring see SR Suntour North American website for more information and purchase.Identity your vertical ID of the bike tube receiver you can measure or better see you bike owners manual. ID make up sleeves can also be purchased. You will need 5mm Allen Wrench to install the seat to the post. Important that you visually confirm you have “full contact of the saddle/seat bracket with the two halves of the post clam” and once in position tighten to 15-18 Nm.(11-13 foot pounds) Vitally important for your safety that the installation is secure. You will need 6mm Allen to adjust the spring preload or for spring exchange . The default load is ~ 50% of full scale. To maximize the performance and benefit of the product you need to choose the correct spring and potentially adjust the spring preload. Their is 50 mm (2”) of post travel ideally you want to adjust the spring to utilize the maximum travel. For your safety… If you do not have the correct tools or not confident in your ability to install correctly have a professional perform the installation. There is no scaling on the posts that said once you determine the ideal height position mark the post by wrapping electrical tape around the post tube so you can reinstall at the same height.Only negative I see in adding the post is weight 765 g or 1.69 pounds however if you are installing on an e-assist bike it is not necessary important factor.Combination of upgraded saddle and suspension post delivers a superior riding experience. For best experience do your research there is more to understand and consider the above is a summary based on our experience. No I do not have a suspension seat post because I ride an e-assist recumbent tadpole trike with full suspension, or I would.Enjoy your ride and do so safely.
