Red Berry Whey
Very drinkable, reminiscent of a well known brand of soda, except healthy. A little on the dry side, but very pleasant. Great for after a workout.

A natural and healthy energy boost in a bottle.
A not unpleasant tasting energy drink that is really refreshing to drink. It claims to aid weight loss, tones muscles, and also claims,to boost depleted energy levels. I have been drinking a bottle a day for a week now after my walk/run with the dogs. As well as quenching my thirst I am starting to feel less tired as the day wears on, so I am of the opinion that this is indeed an efficient energy booster. No sugar, no fat, only 86 calories per bottle - it has to be a yes from me. Really good health tonic drink.

Guilt free but not very appealing.
I ordered this PhD Nutrition Diet drink for my brother who is massively into health and fitness, runs marathons, and does a bit of weight training etc. He didn’t really like it, citing it as too sweet and in an obviously very artificial way. Frankly, he didn’t really understand why anyone concerned about their health would be happy to ingest a drink with artificial sweetener in the first place - a small amount of natural sugar from say, honey or apple juice would surely be preferable. The product he received to test was berry flavoured, but because of the added whey protein looked milky and opaque - it reminded him a bit of a nasty worming medicine we’d had as kids!On the plus side, you are looking at well below 100 calories a bottle and it does provide some essential vitamins and nutrients. Also, the packaging is quite attractive. But it wasn’t appetising enough to compel him to finish the trial pack, and at the end of the day that’s what really counts.

A nice tasting protein drink with no sugar
I found this to be a very refreshing and pleasant tasting drink, I did initially wonder whether the 'red berry' flavouring may make it a bit sickly sweet but I found the taste to be very agreeable, though I confess to having a bit of a sweet tooth. The drink itself is packed with plenty of goodness, in the 500ml you get 20g of whey protein, 100% RDA of vitamins B6 and B12, plus the amino acid L-Carnitine. It also has no sugar or fat and the whole bottle is only 86 calories, though I was disappointed to see it does contain artificial sweeteners and preservatives.Although this drink is aimed at sports people or people who are into keep-fit, it can actually be used by anyone who's looking for a natural and healthy energy boost and makes for a very tasty health tonic.

Handy protein & hydration!
This is a flavoured whey protein drink, conveniently ready mixed and perfect for on-the-go. You get 8x 500ml bottles and I got the Red Berries one which tastes quite nice: sweet with a bit of a yogurt-flavour. I recently tried a similar whey protein drink by Coco Pro which actually tastes very very similar to this PhD one and also contains 20g of protein. I like both equally so for me it would just come down to price if I had to make a choice. Either way these drinks are quite pricey compared to whey protein powder but they are really handy to have for post-gym protein hit with hydration or on if you're doing something outdoorsy. Be sure to drink it chilled rather than at room temperature as it doesn't taste so good warm.Product specifics below for anyone interested:Ingredients:Water, whey protein isolate (milk), acidity regulators (citric acid, tri sodium citrate, malice acid), preservatives (potassium sorbate, sodium benzoate), L-Carnite, flavourings, sweetener (sucralose), vitamin B6, colour (ponceau 4R), vitamin B12.Nutritional info (per 500ml bottle):86 calories0.05g fat0.50g carbs20g protein

VERY sweet - but the flavour grows on you
This is a low calorie, high protein sports drink. It is marketed as containing 20g per 500ml of drink and comes pre-prepared. If I'm honest, my first reaction to the taste was it was the single most awful flavour I have ever tasted; it is VERY sweet (which is accomplished using sweeteners as the drink is sugar free). I persevered however and over the course of the week I became used to the flavour, whilst it still remains very sweet I wouldn't say it's desperately unpleasant. It makes quite a nice change from having to prepare protein shakes and having floating bits, however on balance I would still go for a Bootea brand protein shake over these. They are easily portable however and would be good for on the go. Give them a go and if you can get round the flavour issue I'm sure you will get on well with them.
