Good for Introducing Skills
These phonics readers interesting and are great to supplement systematic phonics instruction. They are more instructional/introductory than for practicing a new sound skill on a variety of books right away.

Great start for a 5 year old
Weโve tried a lot of different books for my 5 year old, including hooked on phonics. HoP was good, but these books accelerated her reading way quicker. It was nice that each book has a clear concept for learning that we could talk about beforehand and point out throughout. Iโve gone ahead and purchased the other 2 sets now. Highly recommend these

Nonfiction Beginning Readers
These have been so helpful as my son has been learning to read. They mirror the way he is taught to read in class so he understands the literacy concepts that are reinforced in each text. The books build upon each other so the reader continues to use what they've previously learned to decode the text. We have picked one out each evening for my son to read aloud and he feels very proud of himself at completion. I'm an elementary school librarian and am aware that boys tend to gravitate toward nonfiction so I'm so pleased we were able to find beginning readers of interest. We have now bought the second set and are working our way through it as well. These sets are well-worth the money.

Great sets!
I love these sets. Most of the time phonics sets have stories that are silly and donโt make sense. These nonfiction stories teach and also hit the phonics patterns. They have a workbook with the set and at the end of each book are lists of words and questions.

Great beginning books
My son went from not reading to confidently reading because of these books! My son loves these books. He has always been Interested in real animals verses fictional stories, therefore these books were a great way to get him interested. They follow a great sequence of learning to read and are easy enough for a young child to read. My six year old begs to read them every night!
