What is not made clear is that these radios can only legally be used by licensed Radio “Hams”/Amateurs in all of UK and Europe and probably the rest of the World. Use of these radios with out the required renders the operator liable to prosecution and a hefty fine! They are not the same as the licence free (446) radios.

These radios are not licence free.They operate on the 2 metre and 70 centimetre Amateur Radio bands.Transmitting with these radios is illegal without the appropriate licence and registered call sign.

Nice for a beginner
The media could not be loaded. Watched few videos how this thing works and it as exactly as expected. Easy to operate with a little bit of guidance form the net. It does though works in my estimation in radius of 4 miles, maybe 5 if pushed. I got two and as a pair it works perfectly well. Very lightweight unit with not huge antenna attached to it. Nice bright display too, easy to read. It's really good with dual frequency of needed, easy to scan channels too. Really good buy, battery last forever :)
