Can i use it on a PS4?

As an external drive, maybe if the PS4 supports 12TB. But this drive is for NAS use really, slower access and high MTBF

Has anyone managed to register with western digital for the 5 year warranty with the wd 12tb gold hard disc?

Yes have 4 of these disks from different sources -2 UK Disks, and 2 None UK - WD will allow you to register a limited number of 'other regions' disks per year - for UK warranty. Sorry I can't remember exactly how many, but you can call them on 00800 5559 3733 to check

Do the drives have the black and gold face plate as shown in the main promotional picture?

Mine does but it is 12 months old.
