The simplest is always the best
I have been looking for a cucumber slicer ever since my last one broke. It had been used for at least 50 years! It was very similar to this one but even more basic - just a blade on a plastic holder with handle at the top. It served me well and I was lost when I couldn't find a replacement. Every one I looked at was far too over-engineered. In fact I did buy a mandolin slicer but it slices cucumber too thinly for my taste and is a faff to wash up. However, this vegetable slicer is great for cucumber (a slightly thicker slice would suit me but that's just being picky). I have also sliced onions to scatter over a salad and they are easy to do. In addition it has a non-slip bar across the bottom and is very sturdy. No safety features to give a star rating but it's a blade so any sensible person would be careful. I am extremely pleased with my purchase.

Slightly expensive but you get what you pay for and this does the job very well. I just wanted something to slice cucumber evenly and it does. Easy to handle, safe (for adult use) - happy with the purchase so would recommend.
