Did the perfect job
I was impressed with this product, made light work of taking a tree down that had fallen on the fence, was a good 40ft long but quite thin. It was on the maximum size for the bow saw but it still worked very well. Gave a very smooth cut. It was a basic cut and drop job but none the less it saved me a considerable amount of money - the tree surgeon was going to charge at least 5x as much. It was very comfortable to use and the motion was free flowing due to the sturdiness and sharpness of the saw. Obviously not as quick as the chain saw but perfect to use one handed due to a sprained left wrist. Ladies - you may want to consider this saw if you need one as I found it to be a good weight but not heavy, it had a good grip and it was surprisingly good at getting the job done. I have subsequently used it to saw the branches off the tree and it did a good job there too and it is still sharp. Am very pleased with the product. A good buy and would not hesitate to buy again.

I have found this to be a fantastic tool and worth every penny
I have found this to be a fantastic tool and worth every penny. I bought it as I need to saw up a lot of logs for our wood burner. I considered buying a chainsaw, but I'm very glad I saved my money. It was promptly delivered and well packaged. The blade is very easy to fit and to tension.I find the cutting performance to be easy and thorough on both old dry logs and fresh new ones. I've been using it a lot and it is still sharp and cuts brilliantly. I'm not exactly strong, but I find this saw easy to use, it is extremely sharp and well balanced, so I don't have to apply much pressure. The blade can get a bit sticky after a while, but I just apply a bit of oil to the blade. So, if you've got a lot of wood to cut then don't waste money on a chainsaw, buy this surprisingly brilliant tool for the job instead. Based on my experience with it, I cannot recommend this bow saw strongly enough.

A beast!
I wanted an alternative to getting the chainsaw out for logging for fire wood, and this does the job admirably.I have other cheap bowsaws but this is much sturdier, has an easier replace/tension mechanism, and came fitted with a good sharp hardened blade. You can feel it ripping through the fibres much like a chainsaw does. On its first outing, it reduced a 30ft spruce to logs in no time, and I felt like I'd achieved something.A chainsaw might be slightly faster cutting, and easier on the arms, BUT add up all the time and hassle mixing fuel, topping up chain oil, sharpening and replacing chains, not to mention the costs!!Of course, I'll still need the chainsaw for the very big jobs, but this is now my go-to cutting tool for everything else.

Really efficient saw, worked well for the garden.
Really good saw, cut through a medium sized tree in about 10-15 minutes.Only issue is the blade cover, can be a little bit fiddly to replace, ended up with a big cut on my finger, so made me a bit hesitant to use again, not sure if that’s down to me not using a saw often or it’s just a bad design. Took a couple of usages to figure it out. But no complaints about its efficiency, less hassle and less money than a far more dangerous chainsaw.

The Best Bowsaw I've Found
Bahco is a brand I trust, and their tools are generally robust and good value for money - this bowsaw is no different. I purchased the 30 inch version, and it's perfectly possible to fell and cut up medium sized tree with it.I do like the special saw blade that comes with it, and is designed for green wood. It has additional gaps to prevent the teeth becoming clogged whilst sawing live, moist wood. I bought a selection of spare blades for my saw too, including blades for both live and seasoned wood. Choosing the correct blade for your task makes an enormous difference.Another excellent feature is the adjustable tensioning screw, which is superior to the non adjustable lever found on most bow saws. Lastly, the finger guard is a real bonus, because however experienced you are, bashing your knuckles during vigorous sawing is a hazard. Not any longer.I've seen enough life altering chainsaw accidents to persuade me that manual wood sawing is preferable. Besides that, a bowsaw has nothing to go wrong, is way cheaper, and requires no fuel. Yes, it requires more effort, but exercise is good for you, and I'm not risking losing a limb, or worse. To my mind this excellent bowsaw basic kit for preppers, or anyone with a garden. Coupled with my wonderful Silky saw (also available at Amazon) it's all I need for cutting firewood and maintaining my trees.

Solid saw, highly recommend
We had a very large willow tree come down in storm Bert and couldn't afford to get anybody into sort it out, had also bought a chainsaw but ended up using this instead as it made quick work of everything eight inches and less and I also managed to cut through over 12 inches by going at it from all sides which took time but still worked. Obviously about 12 to 14 feet of the main trunk is still laying where it fell I didn't even attempt to try that with the saw but this saw was invaluable for clearing the rest of the tree from the garden so highly recommend.
