Really pleased that these items are still manufactured and can easily be fitted onto the original base plate; I just wished you could purchase them separately for units already installed but expired through failure or age - I do think that they are value for money, but it is frustrating to have to dispose of new base plates. I installed the pack of three, very simple, isolate the power supply, using a flat blade screwdriver to unlock the device, slide them off and install the replacement. A push button test on the circuit to check that all is working and installation is complete. Takes less than 3 minutes per unit.Each item comes complete with a new PP3 alkaline battery, re-new by sticker, dust cover (for new builds/renovation) and comprehensive fitting instructions.I suppose the manufacturer would recommend that you change the complete unit, but is really isn't necessary as even after 10+ years, the base plates for our alarms are in pristine condition.

Easy Replacement
These replaced our out of date smoke detectors. They were really easy to install by just sliding the old ones out and sliding the new ones in. Came with 9V Duracell batteries already in them (for backup power if there's a powercut). They all seem to work perfectly when tested with the electric on and off.

Easy replacement for existing alarms
The 3 alarms in my home had all past expiry dates and this set was a perfect replacement for them all. The alarms easily fitted into the existing bases so I just had to slot them into place. I didn't need the included bases so there was some waste but overall very pleased.

Easy Swap Over
I only needed the part with the detector unit in as my current alarms were installed over 10 years ago and were now past their operational date. That made changing them very easy as i just swapped the detector unit for the old one in a matter of seconds. However only 4 stars because, although they come with a battery as a back up to the mains supply, one unit started beeping after just one day to signal that the battery needed changing.

Easy to fit.
Needed to replace three smoke alarme. Last time (10 years ago) got an electrician to to it who was doing some other work on our house at the time. This time I replaced them - it was very simple - they just slide in to the existing base. The only potentially 'tricky' bit is removing the old ones, but look at the instructions carefully so you know which way to press the screwdriver in the release slot and it is easy.

They do work fine but unless you are an electrician you might have difficulty in linking them.

Good price, quick delivery and easy fitting.
Bought to replace three we inherited when we bought the house, which should have been replaced in 2011! Very simple fitting: removed the old ones from the original base plate and slid the new ones in. Couldn't be easier. These are good now until Oct 2030. Very quick delivery and even came with batteries.

Good value
Had to replace my old fire alarms,, and these where good value for money, and looked identical to the ones I was replacing,not to difficult to instal however difficult to get wires in, however that may be due to the amount of wire left to work with when originally installed.
