SHIMANORt-cl800 Lock Interno Disc Brake 160 mm

My 2022 Cannondale Synapse Carbon 2 RL came fitted with Shimano centrelock EXTERNAL brake rotors/discs RT-CL800 Lock Disc, 160mm. I couldn't find external's ANYWHERE, but lots of INTERNALs. So I did a little digging, and determined that the only difference between the listed RT-CL800 internals and RT-CL800 externals is THE SUPPLIED NUT in the box.Yes, the INTERNAL/INTERNO kit is a RT-CL800 rotor bundled with an internal type nut, and the RT-CL800 external kit is the IDENTICAL rotor, just supplied with an external nut.Done. Bought. Fitted. Very happy.Q: For the purists, am I concerned that I didn't have a fresh EXTERNAL nut to replace when I changed the rotor?A: Not even slightly. The external nut is in no way delicate, or soft. The recommended max torque is 40NM, that's not a torque setting for a delicate part.Q: For the purists, do the discs on this listing have IDENTICAL cut-outs on the braking surface to those supplied with the 2022 Synapse Carbon 2 RL?A: No, the cutouts are a little different. Ultegra is what that frame came with, but the cutouts look more like those on the (£20 per rotor) more expensive Dura Ace rotors. Result!Q: Do the discs on this listing have IDENTICAL thickness to those supplied with the 2022 Synapse Carbon 2 RL?A: Yes, ~1.75mm.Q: Do the discs on this listing have IDENTICAL cooling/airflow mgmt to those supplied with the 2022 Synapse Carbon 2 RL, (Shimano SM-RT800-S)?A: No, there's a little less heatsink surface area on the non-breaking surface, and there are no slots/vanes as per stock. But faced with a road-tar contaminated rotor, a total shortage of 160mm externals, I put this difference into a category called "things that are insignificant"...

8年間シマノのローターを各世代(SM-RT98、RT99、RT900、RT-MT900等)使い続けてきましたが、CLシリーズは前MTシリーズより熱変形しづらく、長い下りの後でも歪みが少ないので音鳴りが減り、大変快適になりました。メインバイクはコロナ品薄時期だったので在庫があったCL900を使っていますが、今回サブバイク用にCL800を導入したところ、ほとんど差がなく、次はメインバイクもCL800で良いかと思うくらいです。

このローターに替えてから、音鳴りが全くせず。大満足です。

以前のアルテグラモデルを使用していたが、峠の下りなどでは必ずシュンシュン音鳴りがしていた。が、このモデルに変えてから音鳴りはしなくなった。構造的な問題が解決したのか、非常に快適。変えてよかった。

性能は期待以上でした。非常にスムーズで音鳴りも過去のローターに比べてかなり軽減されます。しかしまぁ重量が相変わらずMTB用のMTシリーズより重いんですわ従来のロード用であったRTシリーズが重いという事で海外のプロ達がMTを使い始めたのがMTが広まる切っ掛けとなりましたが、刷新されたCLシリーズが相変わらずMTより重いというのはちょっと開発の努力が足りないんじゃないか？というのが正直な感想です。
