Is the rustic brown light or dark?

It’s more on the darker side with almost black looking tones throughout - just like the pictures.

CAn an adult comfortably dine at this table as it is 2" - 3" lower han a traditional ining table?

I don't think the height is much of an issue for dining, I suppose it depends on the chairs used. Though mine is in front of my couch and I eat at it closed typically and set it up as a desk when I'm on my laptop. I think it's better suited for card/board games in its "dining table" in my opinion

When the desktop is closed, the height of the coffee table is 20.1".

Can larger table top be installed on the opposite side (and smaller table too, of course) so drawers can face couch instead of facing out?
